Alright, this might be a total newb question, but I'm giving it a shot.

After building a few maps in RM2K3, I tested them out. However, the lower half of every charset seems to be translucent (or partly transparent, if that clicks with you better)

Here's an example, look at the lower parts of the player, slime, and door:

Interesting enough, when I stand on top of the upper door tile, it appears normal. This is the only tile I can find that does this:

I didn't touch any of the tileset options, does anyone know what's wrong?

I don't have 2K3, but in any of the other makers, this would indicate that the tile below them (ie, the dirt tile) has the BUSH flag set.

If you weren't playing around with them, maybe they're set incorrectly by default. See if the dirt tile has the bush flag, and if it does, remove it.

Or if there are multiple layers and you have the dirt tile showing OVER a grass tile.

In RPG Maker 2003, this has to do with the Terrain. There's an option like Lower third is invisible or Lower half is invisible.

It can be found in the Database menu, the tab with the battle backgrounds!

I appreciate the reply, but none of your answers really apply to 2k3, but I did find the answer. There's a section called 'terrian' in the database that I did mess around with, and that effects the tile settings.

Anyways, this topic can be closed now.

Yeah, I wasn't sure as I've never used it, and I'm not buying it until it's available here in the store. So I was only going by "what would be the cause of this issue in XP, VX and Ace". Glad you sorted it out (jay_are did give the correct answer too, but his(?) post wasn't approved until after you found the solution yourself.

Closing.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
