Actually, I learned about RPG Maker a few years ago, while I was looking at all the different game engines available. But I didn't want to create a RPG, so I discarded it at the time.

I started toying with the Unity engine. It's a good product and I had fun with the animations and lighting effects. But I was quickly limited by the fact that I am really bad at 3D modeling.

And the free resources didn't match with what I had in mind.

Adventure Maker had the same problem for me: lack of resources. I'm no artist and I prefer not to make a game than make a crappy one.

And then I played To the Moon and got a revelation: despite its name, I can use it for my adventure game!

I knew there were a lot of free resources that would be useful to me so I was quick to jump on the wagon.

Never regretted since.

The adventure genre, and the RPG genre is closely related, infact if we're talking pure Adventure games, due to not needing complex systems at all, and complex eventing(the type of events you would make for an adventure game, is a cake walk compared to even some of the most simple events in a RPG), it would be so easy to make such, the only thing that would offer any difficulty at all, would be the hub setup(graphicwise, and being able to register the mouse clicking certain points on the hub. After that though, It's smooth sailing, so RPG maker would beable to make Adventure games no problem, you picked the right choice of programs, that's for sure.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
