I'm serious. Is there some sort of award or point system that incentivizes the nearly instantaneous answers to all of my random questions on the support and script request forums? The people replying don't seem to work for RPGMaker or anything.

It's awesome, although I do feel a bit guilty not really being able to help anyone else at this point...

I know, I love it. It's really a fantastic community, I've had so many issues resolved rapidly here. It breeds a sense of giving back, too - so many people have helped me, so I like to offer free assets whenever I can. Makes for a great community!

We're (mostly) gamers! We want to see/help people make awesome games!

The whole idea behind RPGM is that a lot of creative people don't have the tools or know-how to bring their dreams into reality. I try to do what I can to help that idea  :)   :rock-right:

I think what sets this community apart from others is a high level of participation from staff and moderators and a casual and fun atmosphere. I think many things about this website promote friendliness. RPG Maker also has such a strong base of community generated content, that there doesn't seem to be this strong whiff of people trying to protect their 11 herbs and spices.

It's crazy, right? I mean, even in art communities, people are reluctant to share techniques and give advice beyond "Make good art and your art will be good."

I don't know if there's an already existing saying in English, but there's one in French that basically goes like this: "if you share your knowledge, you still have it all with you in the end".

Because we get rewarded in the end, might not exactly be like an actual reward, but being able to help someone is pretty rewarding to a bunch of people.

The forum's "like" and "best answer" systems are the closest thing to incentives to answer, but I think the main reason people are super-helpful around here is because so many of us feel so personally invested in RPG Maker and we want the product and the community to succeed.  It also doesn't hurt that the average gamer working on RPG Maker is almost certainly more mature than the average gamer playing League of Legends or Call of Duty.

it's like alchemy if you ask for help give the same amount in return it's the equivalent exchange~

*cough*

and when you don't give help or try to help in exchange you get ignored because why helping someone who not want to help?

Think rpg maker Web like a big Bee community Everyone contribute for grow the community in is OWN way c:

just a little Try to help a newcomer with basic things likes switch is really well see c:

Lol, this forum is very helpful.

I've had eperience with non-RM forums and... well, they're annoying and don't help you in the slightest. in fact, I think i'm the most helpful person there.

You'll find the people here to be at least decent and very friendly. Decent and friendly people like to help others; we do have the Like system but's not to be compared to the feeling of helping another through their struggle.

I love that feeling, personally.

Heheh. I felt so proud when I got my first 'Best Answer'. Helping people feels good :)

It's also good to help people out because that way they may help you back later, or check your game, give some feedback, there's always some way to "repay" the help

My guess? It's probably because with have active mods with strict, yet understandable and fair rules to discourage the spammers.

Also, most of us on the forums are pretty serious about game design, so we all know the importance of helping each other.  ;)

Because it's cool to be helpful!

And I want to make my cute bunny avatar famous on the forums! :D

But seriously, helping out someone feels great, at least for me, even if I don't get anything in return.

And hey, this is not the first time I see a topic like this on this forum. There must be some magic in the air here too! o.o

The RPGMaker community is something I've always been proud to be apart of since my glory days of regular VX.

Basically like everyone else above me has already said they really enjoy helping and wanna see some awesome games made.  :rwink:

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
