For when, it must be around 2005, during the XP era.

As for why, well, why not?

I'd say it's mainly because the international language is english. You get a lot more people if you're using one language with the least effort.

For example...

Brazil:

2000/2003: Back in Digerati Times But The Oficial Version Did Not appear Until 2015.

XP: Digerati Too! But The Oficial Version Is Released Back in 2005.

VX: 2007-2009

VX ACE: Maybe in 2011-2012...

MV: 2015-2016.

For a simple reason (hopefully you'll read it): what happen in the very moment you translate the functions in italian? That Nucleo.prototype.FinestraBase(altezza) will become senseless to anyone else.
So I can't give nor receive help.
The same is for interface and any other terms.
English is a very easy and plain language, so anyone can use it to communicate on a shared basis.

I'm extremely tempted to reply something with the lones of BECAUSE ENGLISH KICKS ASS

They may be released in English, but when I first tried RPG Maker XP it was in my native language (Spanish, not English).

This answer is simple, of course. It is the lingua franca, international language of the world, the language almost everyone uses cross-culturally to communicate with each other.

Maybe the shop where you bought it detected that you are in German, and automatically you gave RPG Maker in German. Just My Opinion ... :LZYhuh:

English is the International Language. Much of the world either speaks english as a first language or learns English as a secondary language. RPGMaker is not unique in releasing International versions in English. Its quite common to do so.

Hi
Thanks for your review.
I was checking the trailer for details and as the woman shut the door at the exact moment the song I was hearing said "you slim the door" and I couldn't resist to add it there. :D And I used this idea one more time on another scene.
Just doing some tileset tinkering again...
