RPG Maker Forums

Now that my game is close to being approved on steam I have been reading all the feed back in the comments on the greenlight post and now...I am kinda worried.

I have been cool and collected about most of the things being said ( When it comes to an rpg maker game to many people have been burned by ****ty games. that  fail to deliver.)

I have been sure that players will like the story and the game play but now..am I am bit worried about one thing in the game.

One hitting points in the story is about a married couple who are the key reason why all the stuff in the game happens.

Now

I am a sucker for love stories and I wanted to do something different and unique something I have never done before.

I am sitting down and thinking....hey this is a fantasy world...why not do this!

What I ended up doing was having a human male marry a Milo( Humanoid creature) woman.

Now the reason this happens is because they are the first to have an event happen to them that is pretty much a bond created when two people look at each other causing them to connect

(in short they are soul mates)

Now I have been getting negative feed back because of this....and I do not know why.

I thought it would be a cute and new idea

Because I have them face the same issues a interracial couple would have face back in the day and you get to see that in the game.

During the story of them a event happens that is the main focus point of my game because it is a tragic tale.

Later in the game the wife is brought back to life in a human body and has to rediscover who she is and what had happened to herself and her husband as she travels with the main hero

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
