RPG Maker Forums

*Disregard the title as I have absolutely no JS experience.

Hi there! I'm Captainpewd, though just about any form of that name works. I've loved playing video games for years, and while J/RPGs are not really my forte or big interest when I choose to play something (OctopathTraveler might change that soon), I knew about the RPG Maker software and the various games made with them and knew how popular they were. Opening up Steam last week I saw the sale, and also noticed there was a free trial tacked on, so I decided I'd give it a go. Bought it as soon as my trial ended so I could keep going, spent all of yesterday working on a single minute-long intro cutscene and trying to find the best plugins to do the things I want..

To make a long story short, I'm in love with the software and am hoping to make something great come out of it after I learn how to use it a bit more. It's one of those easy to use, hard to master type things, and I'm looking forward to spending some time here on the forums, learning a lot about how to make a good RPG, and just have a great time both here and devving in the software. Can't wait to meet the people in the community, and hopefully form some friendships along the way.

Can't wait to get this adventure rolling. Thanks for reading!~

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
