I dont see how AMD would affect me with me having a i7 64 bit processor. But at least we now know some compatible issues it has.

* I will be trying out a non steam version of rpgmaker vx ace to see if there is a difference

I use an i7 64 bit processor as well and have no issues. I wonder what causes it.

I use both versions (mostly offline). One thing could be your Memory (RAM) or the speed of your CPU Processor. Alternatively the graphics card...

I have 7.88GB of usable Ram. and my CPU processor is 2.4Gz. Im looking more into the graphic card. I will give an update once I try the non steam version and call my nvidea card manufacture as I have support with them still.

Hmmm I have a 3.40 GHz and my Nvidia is a GTX-660. I'll check the laptop specs tomorrow.

I've heard AMD is cheaper but each core is less powerful than the equivalent clock speed Intel core. I know the AMD chips take more power than the Intel chips as well. So it sounds like for Windows 8 an Intel chip is the better choice.

They used to be far better than the Intel chips but that has changed.

I remember not having any screen jitter with my own computer, but was able to replicate it with my friend's computer :

My computer specifications :

Intel® Core™ i5 2.5GHz;

6GB RAM;

Windows 7 64-bit OS;

nVidia GeForce 610M.

My friend's computer specfications :

Intel® Core™ i7-4710HQ CPU @ 2.00Ghz;

16GB RAM;

Windows 8.1 64-bit OS;

nVidia Geforce GTX 865M.

Both graphic drivers are updated to the latest versions.

If the screen jitter issue is not caused by Windows 8/8.1, then I feel that it may be caused the graphic card itself.

This reminds me of PV games issue (and some of my projects have jittering too).

I believe it is an issue with graphics cards that are not optimized for 2d and instead 3d.

I know some later nvidia drivers can cause the issue, if that helps.

Edit: Make that all projects of mine have jitter (didn't notice it that much until I focused on it).

Yea, its something barely noticeable, but I usually pay very close attention to pixels and with my screen being HUGE I probably can tell more then others.

Update:

So I tried rpgmaker that wasnt on steam, still jitter however it didnt jitter when it was in windowed. It did in fullscreen though and it also jitter so incredibly bad when I added the High res dll.

I do have  a question, my computer does have a Nvidia and intel graphic card installed could that cause a problem?

What do you mean by "jitter"? Does the FPS spike or constantly remain low?

I tried and could not....

It is the same Jitter you can see on Laxius Force 3

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ww_nfkkHVEI#t=112

Check out the trees. THAT jitter.

I have the same jitter on Windows 7 so... it is more unlikely to be an OS issue.

I run an AMD dual core 3800+ at 2,5GB RAM, Nvidia Ge-Force8500 and Windows 7.

I have the jitter, jitter becomes better with some antilag scripts like moghunter's.

AMDs tend not to work properly with VX Ace.

@Commotion :

I doubt that the screen jitter is caused by having nVidia and Intel graphic cards installed at the same time.

I noticed that most of the notebooks in my country has Intel graphic card installed together with either nVidia or ATI graphic cards.

My own computer has both installed and has no screen jitter.

@Tsukihime :

The screen jitter mentioned here is a separate issue from FPS.

The map literally jitters while the player is moving. It did not matter if the map was created with the map editor or by using parallax maps.

I would not have noticed it if Commotion did not bring it up previously.

How big is your monitor and it's resolution? It might just be really big and stretches the graphics so wide that the jitter becomes noticeable, as it only happens in FS mode.

Or could also be an age issue or something wrong with the OS/software/hardware. My old comp had both FPS drop and jitter issue before it died...

Jitter is shown on the video of Laxius Force promo video. First 10 seconds, check the blurry trees. That's what we are talking about.

It's not a screen issue, it has to do with the CPU and maybe with the graphics card :(

I can't watch videos here in the office sadly. So i7 and Nvidia is simply a bad match for RM?

I have AMD and Nvidia having same issue of jitter.

Thing is my cousin has Intel CPU and AMD graphics card, running VX Ace smoothly.

I can not say yes to your question though, since I have no much information to 100% support any answer. Sorry mate.

Did you checked the link with the video I posted here on thread #53 ??

First ten seconds show the jitter clearly. ;)
