Hello there!

I'd like to begin by apologizing if this question has already been asked; I looked around a bit, and I didn't see it.

So, my question is this: If I've successfully made a woodcutting Common Event and whatnot, is there any way I can have the trees respawn after a while? That way the player doesn't run out of resources, of course! How exactly would I go about this, if it were possible?

Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the quick response, Andar.

Does this mean while using this script I'll have to set a timer to each individual event, rather than my Common Event?

Thank you for the quick response, Andar.

basically yes, because that's the problem with the default timer: there is one timer only, you can't have different events react to different timers without the use of a script like the one linked.

That default limitation is no problem if you want everything to respawn at the same time (every tree regrows at 10:00 o'clock), then you can use the default timer. But if you want to have the respawns at different times (like every tree regrows exactly 10 minutes after it was chopped, which would mean one tree in one minute, one tree in two minutes, one tree in ten minutes and so on), then each tree event needs a different timer and that can only be provided by scripting.

You could do without the script and simply go back to your event. You say you use a common event? Great. In the common event, make sure to turn on 'self switch A' at the end. Then, in the tree event that is on the map (the one that calls the common event, I presume), create a second event page set to Self Switch A is ON. Set it to parallel process. Add like a 999 frames (or however long you want it to wait to respawn) wait command, and then turn self switch A off.

This let's you copy and paste the event all over the place, and they will respawn. Provided the player is on the map for the duration of the wait command.

Yes. If the player leaves the map while it's waiting to respawn, when they come back it'll start over at the 999 frames again.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
