Heya!
So, I'm super new to RPG Maker(VX Ace, to be specific). Me and my friend have created a plan on making a game for this big project in school, you see. And we want to make it with quality! So, I'm planning on replacing the tileset with a new, simpler one I'm designing to make it fit more the atmosphere of what we plan. But I'm TOTALLY lost.
The thing I can't understand and that I've seen 0 posts about this is: how do I make "corner" tiles work? For instance, the wall tiles(the ones that go on top, not below). They have the 4 corners shaded properly, right? But when I use them, these corners adapt to whether they have adjacent tiles of the same kind or not. Even though they are just 1 tile on their own. How is that possible? How can I make one of those?
Also, how the hell do Autotiles work? I know, essentially, what they are, but I simply cannot understand how, when you put up those stuff together, the tiles becomes automation their own.
One last thing: how do I set up animated tiles? This is basically the major question here: I can only update a single png sheet per tileset, how can it have different stuff like animation?
I don't think I essentially understand the tiling system in this program at all.
