Could anyone please link to some working Tactical RPGs or demos made using MV? I started working on one in VX Ace, and would like to see how things have advanced over the past few years. Thanks!

You'll need to define what you mean by tactical RPG's, as that means different things to different people.

A TRPG tends to be defined by a grid based battle system, like Final Fantasy Tactics. I had a basic workable one with few features in Ace, and had been considering making an MV version, now that I'm active again, but TRPG systems are tedious to make.

Final Fantasy Tactics and Shining Force are good examples of what a TRPG is.

That doesn't help people who never played those games...

Please describe what you consider a TRPG in details, then any one can answer. Comparisons are usually at a disadvantage here, because they limit the number of people who can answer.

There is a Wikipedia article:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tactical_role-playing_game

Basically, TRPGs feature combat on a grid that you can move around on, like in a pen-and-paper RPG such as Dungeons & Dragons. Most of the good TRPGs are turn-based. Most TRPGs use an overhead or isometric view during combat, as opposed to just during exploration.

Here are a bunch of screenshots:

Is that a good enough description?

As you are not asking for making a game, but recommendations for an existing game, this doesn't really belong in 'General Discussion.'
Personally I would be surprised if there is even a demo of a tactical MV game out yet.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
