I'm not too sure where to put this. But I will be posting more screen shots later. Just going to post this world map and see what I've done wrong or right. As I'm not too good at map making in general at this moment. Making both maps, and world maps would be for the best at this moment to polish my skills.

World Map1:

Mods: If this is in the wrong place, please move it, I just didn't see a better place to put it.

Thanks!

is for feed back on maps :)

I'm not the best mapper either ;) So I won't try to give feedback. But I've played several games and as long as the maps don't get too cluttered to where it's hard to tell where to go or how to get there.. then I'm good :) and game play trumps all for me. I've played games with awesome stories and pace that looked horrid, but I loved them. I've also played beautiful games that were.. nearly impossible to finish as they didn't keep my interest =) So don't be discouraged if you don't feel up to par on one aspect of your game since you could be stellar at other parts =)

You have snow right next to a desert.  I suppose not impossible, but the heat of the desert + the cold of the snow?  At the very least I would have thought that would have produced enough moderate temperature and rainfall to have a strip of green.

Hmm, Yes your right. I'll just keep working on my skills. Is that all you have seen wrong with it? I'm using the default textures (I think) I may have replaced them I don't remember. Either way I'll still have to work on my skills. Thanks for the feedback.

Also, Venka. Yes I know this but I would like to be able to at least make decent maps. :)

The snow and desert biomes are right next to each other. This doesn't make any sense. Usually they'd be at polar opposites (no pun intended.)

Also, I've compiled a graph to help you

That graph made me laugh. lol.

Polar opposites? Yes.. but why? Is that the norm? I know in our own world it works that way. But... in a world of magic.. etc etc... Why would this be the case? I do agree I should have put some sort of marsh land between the snowy and desert bit. I also understand if I were to put those two together I'd have to give some sort of explanation in the story at some point as to why these were able to be side by side.

I would guess because of the way the atmosphere is, how close the planet is to the nearest star, etc.

If you want a desert right next to a snowy blizzard-land go for it, it doesn't really matter that much. What matters is whether or not you can make people believe that in the story you're creating, it would be feasible for something like that to happen whether naturally or magically.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
