Could anyone make a simple to use world map script with the sort of same style as fire emblem: awakening or mario (basicly moving between points coordinated to move towards to advance and to get to areas)

also any scripts you find may also be posted or can be made from scratch (tell me if im not being specific enough here)

Most people make such a world map without scripts, by making a map as parallax background (or using a special simplyfied tileset for a real map), but then making only the paths between the areas walkable.

If you want the player to automatically follow the paths, you can create player touch events with moveroutes at the beginning of each path.

If that is not what you want, you need to give the scripter a better description, including at least a screenshot on how that world map should work - not everyone plays the same games...

O.k. i get what you're saying about the 'Not everyone plays the same games' but what exactly is parallax mapping, I've heard of it but never really bothered to want to find out,

never had a use til now but i can do a world map with using custom tilesets and you pretty much gave me what i needed too (eventing and all) but still curious about parallax mapping, might be overly complicated for me (let's not get into why) Also i really wasnt thinking about the whole tileset thing until it was told to me of course

Parallax mapping is using an outside graphics program like photoshop or gimp to create a picture of a map, and then import that picture as a parallax background into the editor. Then you'll use a small tileset of invisible tiles to set passability to the map.

The advantage is that a parallax map isn't limited to the regular grid or the regular two layer set, so you'll be able to make much better looking maps (if done correctly, that is also a lot more work than regular mapping)

Depending on the way you make the map and the map size, you usually also need a parallax lock script to prevent the background from moving at a different rate than the player.

Kind of knew that before you posted, obviously i looked it up, pretty much the only time i've ever thought for myself but i could never use parallax mapping. Two reasons

First, Nowhere near good with sprite design or drawing in general although i have paint.net it was for when i played minecraft custom textures and all...

Second Well i have no idea how to insert it but id rather stick to tilesets (prloaded and changing them to my needs) :thumbsup-left:

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
