Hello, people. I'll try and make this succinct.

I was just tinkering about with the trial version of V.X. and ran into a major problem- I can't put one tile on top of another.

What I wanted to something similar to Harvest Moon- an event where the player makes a "journal entry" in order to save their game. To that end, I tried putting a book tile on top of a table. No go.

Now that I think of it, it could just be that I was using two tiles from the same page. If that's so, go ahead and tell me to rearrange the tile set.

But to come to the point- I'm requesting a remake of the book tile for V.X. Ace. I've got a reference right here-



Any help is appreciated muchly.

You kind of have it right. Tiles B-E can go on top of Tile A tiles but not on top each other. In the RTP tiles, there are a couple of table autotiles in A. If you use those you will be able to put things on the table.

Also, you say you are requesting a remake of the book, but you don't say what you want done to the book.  Or did you want it put onto a table? If you could specify, that would be helpful.

Yeah, sorry. I mean something like, "Could someone make a new tile that looks like the original, only it's for Ace?" (I actually like V.X. a lot so far. It has one thing over Ace- you can use any of the tiles on any map without having to make a whole new set.)

Not sure about VX, but in ACE you could have the book on the table by making it an event. Usually Tilesets B-E are available to use as event graphics.

There is a bit more flexibility as far as layers and such goes with XP. But once you get to Ace and really start mapping, you learn how to work with it.

I'm still a bit confused on the book tile. Maybe I'm being dense, but I don't understand exactly what you are wanting. The picture you posted above, is that an XP tile or Ace tile? It looks like Ace to me, so I'm unclear, especially since there are several book tiles in Ace. Since you are writing, are you wanting the one that is open with the quill?

We seem to have a misunderstanding here. I was working in V.X. and requested a new tile for Ace. Anyway, Logan, your first reply helped me solve my problem. I chose a table from A and put the book from C on top of it. A book on a table, see?

Sorry about that. When I had time to think, I realized that I would like a new tile for Ace. I'd like to be able to use the "journal" event in more than one project.

I don't really care what color you make it- just so it's not neon green. Thanks in advance to anyone who fulfills this request.

Here is a link to where I've done some book recolors in the past. I am on a trip right now and won't be able to do anything else until next weekend. Or maybe someone else can help.

I'm in business! Ace *does* have some book tiles; they're located in the Interior tileset on page C.
