@TheOddFellow: Yes it's Parallax^^ Thanks for your kind words^^

@Oddball: I think your map is oversized, You should make only minimun sized maps. (544x416 or 640x480)

@Oddball:

I think Shuji is correct.

I read "minimum-sized" not "minimum size".

I chose Pink Guy's map:

The Exile

His homeland was ravaged by war for generations. The land is soaked with the blood of both sides; the reason for the conflict long forgotten. The deaths that have been dealt by his hand can't be numbered, all in service to the people who have rejected him. He never took the easy path, and was one of the few ready to do the hard things, the necessary things, to protect his people. Now, he travels alone, struggling through the wilderness to find his next home.

The hot, desert sun was beating down on him as the sound of the jeers his people as the judgement was rendered echoed in his head, "Exile!," said the Emperor, "your crimes against our land and these people are too far to number. Your blood stained hands have only increased our conflict and put these people in danger. Exile!"

What awaits him ahead? More death? Or redemption for this old solider?

I'm not a very good writer, but I figured, why not?

So apparently, the effect of my map is lost because you can't hear the wind sound and the no music

Which people then won't realize "oh! it's a ghost town! and the fertile patch at the top is supposed to make it creepy!"

I'm loving all the stories that have been written here. I really like the story you made out of my screenshot :D Sounds intriguing and dark. Just my style haha.

Looks like El Capitan's screenshot is popular hahaha. To be honest, I really like it ^^

Good luck to all. I'm excited to see new entries! Just wanted to comment that. Hope it's not spam or something.

Anyways, bye! *Hides again*

I write about Little Paw's Map:

(Interpreted a little bit more into the map than just the gap between rich and poor.)

"We don't want those people here in our country. They are dirty and most likely dangerous."

"All we want, is to live a peaceful life. A life which is worth to be lived."

"Why should we care about them? If there is poverty and war somewhere, it's not our problem."

"It really hurts. We are all the same species, we are all human. We can't stay where we builded our

houses once... but as it seems we also can't turn our backs on them, because nobody wants us."

"We do everything we can, to enhance the situation in those countries. We export weapons for

example, to support the local rebels. That also earns us some money. Win-win situation, isn't it?"

"We have nothing to lose. We will try to cross the ocean, even failure is better than this."

This seems like a fun contest.  Here's my map:

And I'll write something for lemongreen's map:

Rebecca gulped.  She'd really done it now.  Honestly though, how was she supposed to know that talking about relationships was off-limits?  All she'd said is that it was lame for anyone over twenty-five to never have dated someone.  Glancing over her right shoulder, Rebecca silently pleaded for help from her classmates.  Unfortunately help seemed unlikely since Ben was cowering in the corner and the only other person who could help was sleeping through the commotion.  Anna may be the best student at the school, but her narcolepsy really made her useless in real-life situations.  Giving up on someone saving her, Rebecca looked back to the enraged elemental floating in front of the chalkboard.  Magi High may be the greatest school for aspiring wizards and sorceresses but Rebecca had forgotten the most important rule:

Do not piss off your teacher.

Using Candacis' map.

Staring solemnly across starlit sky
A man ponders the gravity of his action
Has he missed his chance, of a last goodbye
The conclusive end to his paction.

Activity persists in the castle below
First love, grizzled loyaly and staunch endeavour
This is their lot, that the heavens bestow
Should they take it, it's now or never.

Here's my entry:

Credits: Celianna, Enterbrain.

Write up inspired by therainED's map:

"Gah, what did I tell you, Magnus? The time of heroes and villains is over. No one believes in magic anymore..."

"And I'm telling you, Suliman, that all these people need is a little... inspiration. A good 'ol fashion speech of splendor should rile 'em up nice.

"Fine, but you're the one doing the talking; one word from me and I can guarantee they'll lose interest."

"My dear, Suliman, it is that very lack of confidence that is the reason for our... current financial situation. Now observe, allow The Great Magnus to show you how it's done!"

"Oh no, please get down from those boxes! They're not ours!"

"Come one, come all! Gather 'round and bare witness to a new age! With the help of Madame Suliman and The Great Magnus, you will experience the world anew! Your very perspective on reality will shift! Ladies and gentlemen, we are not your average run-of-the-mill fortune tellers, for we do not just read the future; we decide it! Imagine a perfect life and it is yours! A new fantastical existence could be yours to live for the measly price of... how much are we charging for this?"

"Hmm... Five hundred gold!"

"Yes, five hundred go- don't you think that's a bit much? No! Wait! Everyone, come back! five-hundred gold is a tiny price to pay for- oh forget it, they're gone."

"... I told you not to let me speak..."

"Let's just move on to the next town. And this time, I'll do all the talking."

My entry :)

Decided to write for ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ's entry:

It was a quite midnight; Daniel, who lives alone in his little house, heard some strange sounds from downstairs.

He crawled slowly and reaches his dining room, suddenly his expressions leaves his face and kept him shocked until he discovered that his whole house became a ruin, broken wood floors, everything dirty and broken...

After checking all of the happenings, he noticed a swarm of undead creatures from his window who were walking towards to his loose and ruined door, and after a few minutes of listening their gloomy and odd voices, they started to crash the door with violence and energy!

Will Daniel survive or just become undead like them?

Edit Fixed few credits :)

Diaeitsch's Map Entry

'And how else were we supposed to unwind? After all, being chased from his majesty's army for a week straight often put people's nerves on edge. Myself, I think I likely felt it the most ...' Alyina sighed into the soft breeze as it brushed into her hair, dark as the night was black at this hour. There was even a slight chill despite it being in the middle of spring's hottest days, but this was the furthest thing away from the young knight's mind. 'I was to become one of the knight commander's in another week's time... what a mess...'

Slowly, she grabbed the elbow of her arm and snuggled it close to her body, both frustration and confusion overwhelming her if just for a moment. 'If that wasn't enough...'

--Fifteen Minutes Earlier--

"So, Ana ... have any boys back home?" Victor was not exactly a brute of a man, but he did present himself with an image that meant a fight with him would be hard won. He was toned, unbelievably so, and had one of the most golden manes Alyina had even seen, with a beautiful smile and sparkling blue eyes. Honestly, it was no wonder he had been the object of many women's fantasies over the years. Along with Ana, he had been her best friend, but nothing else - mostly because as handsome as he was, Alyina just didn't find him attractive. Victor knew this a long time ago that the young knight preferred the fairer of the two sexes and it sat with him just fine.

"Um... hehe, uh ..." Ana on the other hand, had been a friend of Alyina's for the past year. Unlike Victor, she was not a soldier in the king's army, but rather one of the few very accomplished scholars. Her short red hair was enough to set her apart, but pairing that with a cute, shorter frame as well as stunning green eyes made it very hard to Alyina not to take notice of her. She dared not share the secret with anyone besides Victor though, that she began to develop feelings for the extremely kind and playful woman. She could not though, for she had been a sworn knight.

Ana was sitting sideways in a big, comfy chair with her legs hanging over the side and using the chair's arm as a pseudo-pillow. She bit her lip ever so slightly, forcing a tiny smile to form around Aylina's lips. "To be... perfectly honest... nope! Don't really, uh... pay attention to the boys.." Not that either saw Aylina's eyes grow a little wide, with Victor leaning in with bemused interest and Ana starting to get all adorably shy about it.

Victor let out a small chuckle before glancing quickly over to Aylina. "Oh, really now? ... that's interesting. Is it the ladies your after? Haha ... well then, are there any girls back home?" The knight was a bit stubborn, as always and pursed her lips in protest to Victor's prodding. She knew what her friend was trying to do now. 'What a sly dog ... should've picked dumber friends,' she thought to herself, though she knew that she would never regret having him around.

"Honestly?" she asked. In the moment, the knight felt her heart skip a beat because just as Ana had asked, her eyes went straight to her own. "I ... well ..." Ana was so quick to turn her eyes that Aylina had a hard time believing the body language she was seeing. "There is one, but she's not really back home anymore ..."

--Back Outside--

'Ana, what am I supposed to do, when you say things like that? We're running for our lives ... do we really have time to develop something more than friendship? What if I come forward... and it's not me? What if the king forgives us? ... can I risk all that?' She huffed at wind as it picked up against her. 'What terrible timing. Then again, if I don't, will I regret it? ...'

Well I may as well give it a go myself. Good luck everyone!

For my write up I have picked Soach's entry:

Beads of sweat ran down his face as he concentrated on the spell. He could feel the ancient magic pouring into him, like a cup being filled with water. But he could handle it, he was destined for this.

He heard two doors opening on either side of him. It seemed those supposed heroes were here to try and stop him, they must have been attempting to flank him. Probably hoping to gain the advantage, it was almost cute how they thought they could stop him. Admittedly they had thwarted his plans before, but only because he underestimated them. A mistake he wouldn't make again. Now they posed no more a threat then a sheep did to a wolf.

His face twisted into a cruel sneer, little did they know he was expecting them. He had already set a trap in preparation. With them out the way he could finally finish the ritual. With the ancient magic combined with his own not even the gods themselves would be able to stand against him. A thrill of excitement rushed through him as he thought of all the possibilities that lay before him.

But first he had two pests to take care of.

Ok, so I chose Cintronics' entry:

The Tale of Garrick the Drunken Cleric:

Garrick awoke to the heat of the sun blazing down on his face. Two squirrels perched atop the woodpile next to him chittered in a way that sounded almost like mocking laughter. Garrick squinted his eyes, his blurred vision cleared and he realized there was only one squirrel, not two. "What's so funny little one?" he asked. There was no response though, it just cocked it's head at him and then scampered off into the woods as Garrick pulled himself to his feet.

Groggily and with a blazing headache Garrick took in his surroundings. He'd passed out cold last night, and apparently didn't even make it to his bed. The camp was eerily silent. The breakfast fire was still smoldering but no one was about. "Where is everyone?" Garrick asked aloud. Walking towards the tent he heard a crumpling of paper at his feet. "What is this?" he asked, stooping down to pick up the note. Brushing off the dirt left from his boot Garrick began to read:

Dear Garrick,

We have decided it is in everyone's best interest that we continue our quest without you. It's nothing personal, we really like you as a person and you are fun to have around for a party. We are just concerned about everyone's safety when our cleric is constantly drunk and incapable of casting spells effectively. We were able to overlook some of your minor mistakes like casting cures instead of heals and targeting the wrong person. We even put up with you spiking the red potions with vodka.

But that last battle... the one where you fully healed the Ogre-magi instead of Fred--just so you could see Fred whoop it's ass some more. Remember that? Yeah... that was a particularly bad blunder. Sure, Fred was doing some serious damage while in his berserker rage. But were it not for the timely aid of Lillian, the druid who showed up after overhearing our battle, Fred would have gone down and the rest of us with him.

After you passed out in the dirt again last night we all got together and came to a decision. We've taken yesterday's event into consideration and feel that Lillian showing up to our aid was a sign from the universe that things need to change. We are going to continue our quest with her as our primary healer. Like I said, it's nothing personal. We'd all just rather have a sober druid than a drunken cleric.

We left you with enough supplies to get back to town and with the way behind us recently cleared of enemies you shouldn't have much trouble if you hurry. Definitely hit us up again if you want to party, but not if you actually want to BE in our party.

Sincerely,

Ami, Fred, Talryn, and Lillian :)

"Aw hell! Why does it always have to be the druids? Curse you treehuggers!!" Garrick yelled with his fist clenching the crumpled letter towards the ominous woods. He then looked up at the noonday sun in the sky. If he hurried packing up and getting out of here he should be out of the forest before dark. His eyes then glanced down at the still half full bottle of vodka spiked red potion. "Hrmm... well there's no need to rush. They did say the way behind us has been cleared..."

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
