Can anyone recommend some good (and maybe free and open source) tools for writing video game scenes and dialogue?

I've been looking for some tools to help write the story of my game. Particularly, ones that have a little more "oomph" than your basic word processor. Like the ability to support branching dialogue, character relationship maps, etc.

    Any recommendations?

Thanks for taking a look through my topic!

I've been using articy:3 for a while. It's superb for planning dialogues, flows, etc. It might be a tad expensive at the moment (USD 99.99 on Steam)
