I'm making a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game on XP, and i need to make a Bide skill for Cubchoo and others.
And of course, because XP is the most unknown, obscure, mysterious, unused game engine EVER, there were no scripts.
Only for VX and MV. (WHY DID THOSE EVEN SHOW UP?! I SEARCHED FOR XP!)

As for the script itself, it make the user unable to move for 1 turn, then use the attack. And you should be able to choose which skill/s would be Bide in the script editor. (BTW, the bide one would be skill 22 by default.)

I'll be waiting... for a long time.... seeing as this board is for XP, and XP is really obscure and unused....

It's not that XP is obscure and unused - I believe that there are over 1,000 XP scripts out there. It is more that very few people are scripting for XP anymore as it uses an earlier version of Ruby than either VX or VX Ace. Furthermore, its script structure is totally different, so that often it is necessary to write hundreds of lines of code just to change one small aspect.

For those who are Poke'Ignorant, you could describe the Bide system?

The name might be obscure for those who are unfamiliar. So it might be a good idea to describe in detail what the skill involves. Be detailed and thoughtful in your description... don't rush it.

So, when a pokemon uses Bide, it can't move for a turn. After that turn, it uses an attack that never misses that deals twice the amount of damage dealt to it the turn it couldn't attack.

So it's sort of a combination of a 'Skill Delay' system coupled with the normal attack (or a replica thereof).

A skill delay system (usually for a specific battlesystem) is one where the hero or monster chooses to perform a skill... and must wait X turns until it's ready and then *BANG!* Skill delay scripts were made for battle systems like cogwheel's RTAB, ParaDog's ATB and is built into Charlie Fleed's CTB. I made my own for the default battlesystem.

Now if each one of your creations has their own bide "SKILL" that looks like an attack, and an appropriate skill delay script that makes them take 1 extra turn to use... sounds like you'd be set.

From my forum's database of Scripts...

Skill Casting Delay
by DerVVulfman (March 20, 2007)
This script is designed to make spells/skills in the default battlesystem take time to cast/prepare. As a turn-based system, the duration for the delay is ALSO given in turns. It's very simple... if you want a fireball spell to take two turns to work after casting, you set the skill up in the config section to spend 2 turns.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
