I am currently working to integrate this script in a game project for someone else

http://www.gdunlimited.net/scripts/rpg-maker-xp/custom-message-systems/custom-message-system

It's awesome and I'm getting the hang of doing the codes (granted a tad tedious, but looks great). I also have gotten most of the it set up to about look the way I want it, but is there a way to temporarily disable the script or make the message box show as normal when needed? I do have a back up script that I plan to use if this isn't possible, it's just this one looks more decorative and has more possibilities and is great when chatting up NPCs or when there's multiple NPCs. But she wants full portraits with body poses for the main character(s). I know this script has a portrait/face set up but it's probably too small to the project maker's liking as she wants to utilize portrait poses and thus we need a larger chat box to display in a larger area to use with the bust. Any ideas or help would be appreciated ^^;; Thank you in advance.

Looking over the script, there's an option marked "TEXT_MODE_WINDOWSKIN". Does that not revert to the default?

In any case, I can highly recommend CCOA's UMS: http://www.gdunlimited.net/forums/files/file/63-ccoas-ums-18/. I know it can switch between bubbles and regular boxes.
It does only in looks, it's still a small chatbox over the character (instead of a bubble) great for parts where player is examining objects/events but not quite what I'm looking for and the closest way found to produce that larger/normal chatbox (just recently) is to use the invisible mode and setting it to a larger text and to the bottom of the screen but will have to create a picture message box (which would be fine) but the problem in that case is that the text is showing under the picture instead of over. I found a script by Woratana that had been ported to XP, where it makes pictures below character events but it's not quite working out either as it'll sit over the bottom layer of the map and everything in the two upper layer plus player shows over the picture/portrait ^^; I found the bit that makes it goe over events but it still doesn't help with the other layers x.x lol So I guess, another thing I may look for, if not a disable ability, is also having the text of this script lay above everything, including pictures.

I may check out that demo you suggested but also on a note we are looking for commercial usable scripts so if it's commercial usable then it just might be perfect :D

Update: I've actually tried to sign up at GDU but for some reason I'm getting database connection errors and am not able to validate my account with them even though if I go a little round about I have access to my account but nothing else o_O I'm still in the validating group so I'm wondering is there a time frame before I can get validated? I can find a way to contact the admin either. as no email was provided and I can't post.

I don't use GDU very much so I wouldn't know about site issues. But as for whether the script is commercial or not, there's actually no license provided with it. I'm not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure that means you can't use it for commercial use.

Ahh, yea we'll need a confirmed commercial use license or permission, but thank you for letting my know of it. ^_^

Update on Woratana's script-ported: Ok after a bunch of testing, I found that in the script I had tried to use to correct this, that it would work if the tiles didn't have any higher priority than the character (or 1-5, this is for allowing the character to move behind a object tile), not practical unless you don't want the character to be able to move behind anything (unless through cutscenes), which in our case, isn't good or wanted.

So now I'm changing my request for any help in making this script go over everything especially pictures through eventing. The way the game will be set up on chatting will work fine with this/text/boxes just going over everything. Since needing to read what characters say if pretty important :) I can also easily enough make a template chatbox for the main character's chatting for the text to go over. Again, thanks for any help ^^

Further update:
Had gotten another script to do what we're looking for so consider this thread closed. Thank you ^^

Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
