RPG Maker VX Ace
XP Height characters
NEW: FINISHED RUNNING SPRITES (Improved eyes can be copy pasted over from the old template)
(Credit to Enterbrain for the original templates, as these are mostly edits. No credit to myself is necessary for using the templates although if given it would be preferred under the name "TheButterscotchNinja" as opposed to "ButtersTheNinja")
FREE FOR COMMERCIAL USE!
So one thing that always irked me was the character height in VXA, unlike XP it seemed to try and force you into using their short style characters. Then I went to go looking for XP style sprites, and I didn't like the visual style of them, and couldn't find any good templates that still retained the look of RPG Maker VXA so I decided to make my own!
These are simple edits of the original "naked" (or as nude as possible) generator character made taller, you can even use the heads from the generator on your characters! (Although clothing has to be done completely manually)
Remember, you either need to set the size of the image to be 384x384 or insert a $ symbol before name in the file (Eg: "$Hero.png")
And as a bonus, here are some better looking eyes because I thought the default ones also looked bad:
You should be able to simply change the Hue of these images to make whatever eye colour you want, or change them manually.
Here are some examples that I have made:
THE FOLLOWING EXAMPLES ARE NOT FREE FOR COMMERCIAL USAGE
These use the hair from the generators along with custom made clothing. Both use the male template so that they can follow that frame of animation. They are also using the custom made eyes from the template.
Future Updates:
-Recreations of default RPG Maker VX Ace characters into the taller style.
-More animation templates! (eg: For running, swimming, etc.) (Female running coming soon)
-More general resources (I may try taking requests if anyone has any)
-Possible tutorial on how to edit sprites to fit into these templates
Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy!
