[XP] Where to find city/village tutorials?

I'm currently in a slow process of creating my game and I'm having some trouble creating large locations like cities and villages. Does anyone know of any good RMXP City/Village Tutorials around?

XP? Yesh, might I suggest updating to at the very least VX(not ace)?

Older versions have so many freaking bugs its not even close to funny.

Or at least pirate a better version(If you did.)

I understand it may be "outdated", but it's a good starting point. Until I'm able to purchase VX or VX Ace, I'll keep practicing on RMXP so I can get many of the concepts down so I won't walk right into RMVX Ace confused. Meanwhile, guess I'll have to wait till the next 30-50% sale.

$5 Dollars!? RPG Maker VX ACE? "Those words, Is it possible to use them in a sentence together like that?" Lol.

Seriously though, a very lucky find. I would love to get the game now, however, funds aren't really of an abundance like they were during the holidays. *sigh*

I will constantly and eagerly look for and await any changes in prices for the game on all providers. Question is... when will that happen?

There's also an upcoming parallax mapping tutorial which teaches you the basics of mapping, as well as how to parallax map (a term you might have come across).

I've bought stuff through Bundlestars, they are legit. And you will have to install and make an account for Steam if you don't have one. Some people don't like Steam (for various reasons) but you don't have to worry about malware or anything like that. If you don't want to leave Steam connected to the internet you can run it in offline mode.

Thanks for the info! I'll be sure to look into it before the sale goes out.

Also, if I purchased the game through Steam, would that mean I couldn't play RMVXA without Steam open/installed on my computer? Offline as well?

You will need to have Steam installed and running and I think you need to run the program (VXAce in this instance) once before you put Steam in offline mode to verify it.

Personally I have a number of issues with steam and having to fire it up to use the editor is going to be a pain, but with having the RTP installed conventionally I suppose it wont upset playing other peoples games.

Tornado to put things into perspective, Steam is the biggest gaming content download and management platform out there.  It is run by Valve originally to push their own games but has over the last 12 years ballooned into a sluggish and inefficient system distributing not only their own content but a vast array of other stuff.  What I can guarantee that it is as a platform without malware, spyware or anything like that and what you are purchacing off Bundle Stars is the validation code to download RMVX-ace as provided to steam by enterbrain inc.

If only I can get through the brand new basics which are completely different from XP...

Its good you upgraded now or you would have gotten so familiar with an outdated version upgraded and suddenly felt like a noob to the engine all over again. Now you only need to feel like a noob once!

Lol. Yeah, it feels nice to be up to date. Now I can use the innumeral tutorials I couldn't use because I only had XP. Can't wait to get started! And yeah, I did feel like a noob because when I started RMVX Ace yesterday, I was so overwhelmed, I didn't know what to do. It was like, "Wow, XP has really been dropped in VX Ace. I'm lost. And deathsia told me so too." However, I'll use the tutorials to help me.
