I have been having a lot of issues with overlays as the one I am using requires a switch for the overlay image to appear

I am looking for a particular script that doesn't require the switch, but instead, only requires the overlay image to be placed in a folder and named specifically according to the MAP ID

does anyone know of said script?

I only know Yami's but I couldn't download it at all...

This help would be much much appreciated!

Thank you!

I've moved this thread to RGSS3 Script Requests. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

(Scripts have their own section - "resources" is for graphic/audio type resources)

Why couldn't you download Yami's? That is the only one I know of that behaves the way you're describing.

I cannot download it. The dropbox error prevents me from doing so...

That design means you won't be able to reuse the same graphic for another map without cloning the file and rename it according to map id.

Isn't that going to cost you extra file size budget for your game?

If by overlay, you mean a huge overlay for parallax map:

You can try these:

or

All Yami scripts can be found here:

Sorry about it. and thank you for the examples.

Yes I do not mind the extra clones as I do not quite need to reuse most files again.

What do you mean by budget? Does the game charge me more the bigger it is? Oh well, that's for a different thread, Will try these examples out

Thank you!

File size budget = the final expected size of your game.

Not many RM Game players are looking forward to download games that's over a hundred mb in size unless it's REALLY good and high up in the rankings.

Go check the RM game download sites and the download rankings there to understand more what sized games are more preferred by the RM gamers crowd.

eg. Freem (one of the biggest site for free download game, but not all games are made by RM there, but about 90%+ are so you can easily figure out what's more popular)

Here's the weekly ranking

http://www.freem.ne.jp/win/ranking/download/weekly

As far as RM's RTP concept goes, the players are expecting to download games in small size, because the resources are shared through the RTP the the players have already downloaded and installed.
