Yanfly Core Engine resolution scaling glitch

After making a small project for fun in VX Ace, I saw that MV was on sale for $45. I bought it today and transferred my game using the Ace to MV.db script.


I put Yanfly Core Engine in the game, set the resolution to 1920x1080 (my computer's resolution), and then this happened.


I put it back to the default resolution and it was fine.


I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong... it should scale automatically. The text windows are ridiculously small in height, but they cover the entire width of the screen.


In this bigger room, there's 2 black rectangles that are just... there. I can move left and right and the camera follows me, but they don't disappear.


So... I'm not quite sure what's wrong. Thanks in advance.

of course this happens - because the core does NOT scale. It increases the screen size, but it is your responsibility to fill the screen size with data.


1920x1080 with 48x48 tiles needs a map of 40x23 tiles to be filled completely - and your maps are probably smaller than that, that is why you get the borders.


Same with the text - increasing the screen size does NOT increase the text size, you'll need a plugin to set the font to a larger size to see it proportionally larger.


Again, that is your responsibility as a developer - in 2d the resources do not scale like they do with 3D engines.

Okay, thank you for the clarification.


But my map in this photo is big enough vertically, so there is no border. However, horizontally, the black border scrolls with the screen. Do you know why that happens?

because the map needs to be big enough both vertically and horizontally - the engine has problems handling maps that are smaller than the screen size, and the result can be anything including duplication of partial maps or whatever.

horizontally, the black border scrolls with the screen.
It is big enough horizontally. It's actually bigger than the screen, so when the camera scrolls, the black borders stay there.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
