Introduction
This is part of YEA - Battle Engine. It contains only the damage popup code, so it should work with almost any battle system flawlessly.

I hope people can make some use out of it.

Hmm, can't seem to get it to work. I'm using high-resolution by the way, which there may be issues with as I'm also using some other viewport fixes.


Here is my current script list:





I tried disabling the timer fix = crash


Disabling neonblack battle system+state battlers = crash


Disabling YEA = low res, crashes anyway


Disabling VGA = same crash


I can't seem to find what the conflict is... I will have to have another look later.


EDIT: Yeah, Neonblack's thing seems to be the problem.

Oh! Sorry, lol. Neonblack has his own popup(s) which works with his own battle system, which I only just found. That's what I meant xD

I get an error when using it.

line 304: NoMethodError Occurred.

undefined method spriteset for #<Scene_Battle:0x7799e04> 

The hex number changes every trial.

My scripts lack Yanfly's Battle Engine. Help, please?

Did you try it on a new game or a loaded save file? If you tried it on a loaded save file, try it on a new one instead... Most scripts doesn't work correctly with save files because of the way they initialized values. Newer scripts are more save file friendly, though it's still preferred to always try on a new game whenever you use a new script just to be safe.

Put this below the script

In some cases yes. Did you receive the error upon using it in a standalone battle inside the actual game? If the script works fine in a sample project with no additional scripts, then it is a compatibility issue. I do not offer 3rd party script support.

Make sure you hit save before running battle test... and also, sometimes it's better to test in playtest than battle test

I still can't get it working after tinkering with it here and there.

I tried Theo's solution to no avail. It points to this line, however, when I gave it a shot:

self.x += rand(4) - rand(4) if @battler.sprite.popups.size >= 1I retried doing this in an empty project
And I get an error of undefined method at line 337: Undefined Method "subject" @viewport
The line in question:
 

if @current_active_battler != SceneManager.scene.subject
I'm wondering... Is the link updated? I'm just not sure why it wouldn't work on a blank project. :|

I fixed it up. 1.0.4 is now live. I was working on it awhile ago, but finished it up and released the new version that is working. It will not work with my battle status script for Yanfly.

Can anybody here help me with a YEA - Battle Engine?

I have put the script on top of everything in Material section. Firstly, I had a problem of critical hit didn't show wording and I found a snippet created by TheoAllen, put it below the engine and it worked...

But the flash screen function is broken. I have set flash_critical = true but the flash never happens when critical hit lands.T

I tried playtesting with a new game file but the problem still persists. Do I need to have to insert YEA - Core Engine to make it perfectly function?
