Yanfly event chase player seeing through walls

So I've been working for a little while on converting my vx ace game over to MV, and kinda needed a script to do exactly what this is suppose to do. However, it seems that, even if I set the see player to true, the events can still see them through walls. Is this an issue in the script? And if so, is there a workaround for it without me redesigning my levels?

Have you used


this._seePlayer = true


in a move route?


I do not know if this will fix the issue, but the plugin's help file says that this will make it so the event has to be able to see the player in order to trigger the behavior.

I did try it in the move route as well, as I did note that with another of Yanfly's scripts that it wouldn't work in just the settings area, and still having them see my player through walls.

This question has been asked a few times before.


Yanfly's Plug-In is designed for proximity, and not true line of sight. There are a few too many variables at play for Yanfly to create a Plug-In that uses actual LoS. So, walls will do nothing to stop an event seeing you.


The "seePlayer" boolean only says that the event needs to be facing the player in order to be triggered.


Yanfly's recommended solution is messing around with the Event Chase Stealth Plug-In to achieve that affect via regions. While not an elegant or catch-all solution, it is the only one available at the moment.

Ok thanks. I thought it might be something like that, but didn't want to post up on the bug thread if it was designed in such a manner. Thinking about it I may be able to make the stealth plugin work for this particular instance. Thanks for the reply.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
