Yanfly Region Restriction Plugin not working?

Hi all!



I seem to have a problem with the Region Restriction plugin.

It isn't working.

This is the first time this plugin has ever acted funky with me. It's always worked flawlessly before. I've tried to fix it, re-install the plugin, and change the plugin order on the plugin menus.

Here's a picture. 1 blocks are "all restrict" and 2 blocks are "player allow"

As you can see, my character is in the region she shouldn't be in. (Guess she's a rebel)



I quickly made a small game to test the plugin, but it isn't working on my test games either.


Has anybody else had this issue?
What can I do to fix it?

Uh, do you mean that the character SPAWNS in the wrong area, or is it that you are able to WALK in those areas? If it is the spawning thing, then I'm sorry, but I have no idea...


If it is the 2nd one, maybe you should double check the numbers in the plugin to make sure you wrote it correctly... I'm sorry if I'm not much help...

I've quadchecked the settings by now, and it still isnt working :/

Sometimes if I'm having problems with regions like that, I use the feature in the yanfly doodads plugin that allows you to see the regions, because maybe you're actually okay, unless you're testing your problem by going horizontal, and you're still walking over the 1 blocks. I'm sorry, but I've never really had a problem like that before.

Installing RPG Maker won't solve the problem.


What other plugins do you have?  Can you please provide a screenshot of your Plugin Manager - several, if you have a lot of plugins - so we can see what you've got?  It could be that there's a conflict between this one and another.  One way to tell would be to turn off ALL other plugins and leave this one on (or start a brand new project and just add this one plugin) and see if it works.

Well, no conflicts in that small group.  Could you show a screenshot of the Region Restriction plugin parameters?  Also a link to that plugin would be great.


Sometimes, if the plugin behaves as if it's not even activated, the problem is that you've named it incorrectly, so that's something worth checking.  Only part of the name is displayed there - what's the full name that you've saved it as?  Might just be a matter of needing an 's' on the end or removing an 's' from the end.

DUDE.

Okay, I figured it out. Gonna post the whole thing in case someone else has the same problem.

So, for whatever reason, I got a really weird version of the plugin.  That or it was how my computers file system saved it. The original file was "YEP_RegionRestriction(1)" I went ahead and re-downloaded to "YEP_RegionRestriction" so now the plugin works just fine!!

Either it was the name of the file itself, or I got it from a different website than previous downloads.

Regardless, it's working now! Thank you for taking the time to give suggestions! It's very appreciated!

A (1) simply means it's not the first time you've downloaded that file.  You probably could have just renamed it

Nah, I've definitely downloaded that plugin before.
Dunno if the renaming is what botched it up, but I'm willing to bet that's what it probably was.
