Hello everyone, and thanks for taking the time to read this. I apologize in advance if this isn't in the right section within the forums.

I am new to developing on RPG Maker MV, I haven't touched programs like this since Don Miguels RPG Maker 2000 lol.

What I am trying to do here is this: I want the player to be able to walk on both tiles that I have with red overlays. However, I do not want them to be able to pass from one to another. I am parallax mapping, so using the passage restrictions within the tilesets isn't working. I've tried even using the regular tiles to overlay on top of my parallax, but it appears the regions override that. I would like the player to collide with the edge (indicated by the arrows) of the cliff face regardless of which side they're on, but I would also like them to be able to walk on both tiles.

Is there a way I can achieve this? I really don't want to create objects and line my walls with impassible objects, it just looks out of place.

The only way I could think of that this may work, was if I make the region unable to pass, and further ahead, the player can activate a switch that would switch the region. Is there a way to do that? To have a player step on a tile, and change region 1 (passable for player) to region 2 (not passable for player)? And then when they go back, it would do the reverse. I may be talking in circles here. I'm sure there is someone here with the knowledge to explain how this may be possible.

I even tried using Quasis movement plugin, but I don't feel its really refined and is a bit buggy in places. If anyone could help with this, I'd deeply appreciate it. Thank you.

RMMV
don't use region restrictions at that place.

Make several different invisible tiles with different directional passability (for that, you'll need six different ones, three above and three below the cliff, one each for the edges and one for the long line where only one direction is blocked). Then place those tiles there to handle the movement restrictions.

Since I've enables region restrictions within my game, I find that my player cannot walk at all unless I designate a walkable region. Is that not normal? I've tried making invisible tiles with the directional passage but the player cannot step on the tile without the regional restriction.

Again I'm working with Parallaxes, so my actual "map" is invisible entirely. The player is essentially walking on two pictures. My underlay, and then my overlay for things the player can walk underneath. I'm using TDDP_BindPicturesToMap to achieve this.

I appreciate you replying.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD

Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
