I am using Yanfly's Core Engine Ace and the resolution is set to 640x480. In window mode it is fine, but when I use fullscreen then the black borders cut off part of the screen.

Is this a resolution issue I have to sort out with my own computer? If so then what is the best way to maximize resolution so that it is 640x480 for everyone without making them change their computer's resolution.

Thank you for your time.

Is it actually cutting off part of the screen or is it just you have black borders on either side? If it's the latter then that's due to aspect ratios, 640x480 is built for 4:3 where as you're probably using a 16:9.

Because of this black boxes will appear around the edge unless you stretched it to fit the screen and that would ruin the graphics slightly because they would be all stretched out. However, it's better to build for 4:3 still, as not everyone uses a 16:9 monitor.

If your monitor is set up right, it should auto adjust aspect ratio based on what is displayed on it's screen and that is likely what it is attempting to do from your description.

My character walks party off the screen. He walks under the border as if it's a black tile w/ star passage.

On my laptop I don't have this issue. I set yanfly resolution to maximum and in fullscreen it is perfect.

On my desktop I do the same thing with the script except a black border is covering the edges of my game(the menu and the map) which is why my character can walk under the border.

The resolution on both computers is 1600x900.

Sounds more like an issue with the display settings on your PC rather than the script.  I'd look into that.

more likely a problem with the monitor settings rather than the grafic card settings, but both are at the same place in windows, so you have to check them both anyway.

Okay I figured it out! Thanks for the help. It was that my desktop nvidia settings were set to "Perform scaling on monitor" instead of on GPU. Now that it scales on the gpu it works perfectly!

I'm having this problem only recently after 4 months into my project. I've yet to find any consistency to why it's happening, but sometimes, when transferring onto a new map, I lose about 3 32x32 blocks on the right side. I can walk over there, but the map doesn't follow the player. I've noticed it in 3 different circumstances. I've replayed my project several times this week to recreate the occurrence with no luck.

Anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it?

It started about a week after I added Yanfly's Engine Ace Message System.

Please post screenshots of the map issue and tell us which size the map has as compared to the screen solution you have set.

Most errors with resized games happen if the map is smaller than the screen resolution - the editor just enforces the minimum map size for the default resolution, it cannot detect a resize.

Been busing working on Common Events, so I haven't had time to playtest my project, but I did so tonight, and got the problem I'd mentioned previously along with a screenshot. In the image below, I'm just walking off the screen to the rest of the map, but doesn't center on the player. There are an additional 3 tiles beyond the black edge on the right. When I save the game, close it out, and reopen continuing that saved game, the map starts working as intended. And it's not consistent at all. I can walk in and out of this map continuously in the hopes that I could recreate the glitch with no luck.

In this case, the map is 57x27.

Unsure of Resolution. I playtest it in the small window popup.

Your problem has absolutely nothing to do with this topic - please open a new topic where you place all this information in addition to links to any scripts your're using.
Sorry, when I answered first I didn't realised that you hijacked this topic, or I would have directed you then.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
