Re-asking this question.

So the Yanfly Save core allows you to use Variables to display some extra information. What I would like to do is display information regarding the time of day and the weather.

For instance for the Day time variable. When the variable value is set to 1, the screen changes to reflect itself to Day and the Save Slot is supposed to say Daytime. I even set it up so that there are two variables that change the screen and what it's supposed to say on the save screen. In other words, there is one variable that changes value over looped time, another Common Event that changes the screen according to that value, and another Common Event that changes what the value is supposed to say on the save screen.

I'm using the script option in the variables control tab for when the variable value is supposed to change for the Save slot.

The end result? A value of 0. What is going on?

You may wish to show how you are doing this, but if I read this right, the problem is going to be you are using the same variable for two things, which never works well. You'll probably need a new unused variable to display the word representing what the time is supposed to be for the player.

I believe the script command isn't correct, as that is telling it to call the script command Midnight, and store the result in the variable. You'll have to use something else if you want it to store Midnight in the variable, but I don't know the command to store a string in a variable in JavaScript.

Quotation marks are used to set a variable equal to a string. Did you try typing in 'Midnight' with the quotation marks in your third screenshot?

Nope.

Edit: I knew you guys would come through for me. Thanks again for this wonderful message board.

Yep, the Quotations were the problem.

Sorry, I did not try the quotations. But as you can see, once I did, it worked just fine. Thank you, I about wracked my brain over this one.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
