Hi everyone!

I hope you can help me with this small problem I am have.

I want to set up the Row formation plugin from Yanfly like this:

  1. 2 Rows, Front and Back row
  2. Only the first row can be attacked, so you have to kill the front row before you can kill the back row
  3. Mages and Bow/gun users CAN attack from the back row and also REACH the enemys back row.

I managed to do 1 and 3 just fine, but I am having trouble with 2.

I have target core installed but I cant find a skill note tag that does this ( only with the WHOLE front row) and I cant use lunatic mode because I dont know Java script.

All Yanfly plugins are up to date and in the right order.

Please help me ><

You need the Taunt Script from Yanfly with this.

put <Physical Taunt> on auto state when front row.

I share your pain, I've been there.

For number 2, you will need 1 plugins :

- taunt

Then you make a state in the date base with this notetag :

<Physical Taunt>

After that, you go into your Row formation plugin and add the number of the state you made in it :

You can add other states if you like but that's the basic that prevent the player to not attack the second row ;)

The problem is that I already tried that and it doesnt work, I still can attack even the enemies on the back row...

Edit: It seems as if the front rowers dont get the state i set for the front row.

To make sure I see if the states get applied I gave both the front and the back row state an icon and an overlay image but only the back

row state is 100% applied because i see both the icon and the overlay, but not the front row state.

I made sure twice that I put the right state ID in the plug in parameter.

I guess THATS where the issue lies.

The problem might come from how Yanfly made her row, since you can write whatever you want as size.

So try this (enemy note tag) :

<Default Row: x>

With this you can force an enemy to be in the row you want and if you did setup right your state, it should be applied to them.

I know it's not optimal but I'm kinda in same boat as you.

How did you manage to get Number 3 to work?  I've been struggling with that one for a little while now.

I struggled with that part for a while, too; number 2 was easy for me (I did it in a different way than everybody else did, though). Here's what I came up with:

Required Plugins: YEP_WeaponUnleash

1) Make two skills: Melee Attack and Ranged Attack.

2) Make a state for the back row. Give it whatever traits you want to, but make sure you add the trait, Seal Skill: Melee Attack.

3) In the notebox for all weapons you create, add the notetag <Replace Attack: X Attack>, replacing X with either Melee or Ranged, depending on the weapon type.

4) OPTIONAL: Add the notetag <Command Text: Attack> to the Melee and Ranged Attacks.

And then it'll work.

ok, works very nicely....except how does the game know which weapon is ranged? As far as i can tell, it can't even default ranged weapons can't seem to get past the taunt.

Update: Yes i've tried putting <Ignore Physical Taunt> on a ranged weapon. Also I've tried putting YEP_Taunt both before and after YEP_rowformation. removed <Row Only: 1> from basic attack skill.  Still can't shoot a bow at the back row.

How would you make it so that, let's say your ranged character got in the front row that there Attack skill was then sealed? Because I followed the directions of what everyone has wrote in this post and it almost nearly works perfectly. Minus the fact that if my Archer gets in the front row he can still attack.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
