Yanfly's Skill Learn Addon.... please

I'm not sure if it's possible, but I was wondering if there can be an addon to Yanfly's Skill Learn System where you don't ahve the Skill immediately at the start of the game, you have to find items or special people teach you about them.  But they only teach you ABOUT them....  not teaching the actual skills.

Let me explain a little bit...  I hope....

You start the game with Fire I.  The Skill Learn List is all Fire [ie: Fire II, Fire III, etc.].

You have no other skill available to learn at this stage of the game at all.

You find a weird book marked "Water of Gods Volume 1" [or something].  This book teaches you about Water.

Now the Skill Learn List you have access to is Fire and Water skill...  But it's only Water I, since the book was only a first volume.

You later find a master of Thunder and he teaches you how to handle Thunder and Lightning, but just the techniques.

Now your Skill Learn List is Fire, Water I, and all the Thunders [i, II, III, etc.]

So is this a possibility.  I tried using items and event calls, but these TEACH you the Skills and not the knowledge of the Skills so the "Water of the Gods Volume 1" would teach you the skill and you could use it without spending JP to learn it through the menu.

Is there a way to make it work like I want?

I did something like this in my game using the learn require switch notetag on the individual skill. Just set every single skill you don't want learned at the beginning of the game to require a switch to be ON to learn them. Then, once the player has the ability to learn the skill, turn the switch ON, and you can then learn the skill.

Just make sure to use a different switch for each skill, as once you turn on the switch you use in the notetag, all skills linked to that switch will turn on.
