Hello, I was hoping someone could help and explain a note tag command to me? The plugin's help file really doesn't explain this too well.

So I was wondering about the command to add custom motions to battlers using YED's Sideview Battlers. Since that alone was one of the reasons I got the plugin. though I'm a little confused about how it's supposed to work. Now I followed the Help file and this is what I came up with.

<Sideview Battler Motion: Fang Blade, 15>

<Sideview Battler Motion>

Name: Fang Blade

Index: 15

Frames: 19

Speed: 6

</Sideview Battler Motion>

However, The motion doesn't play during battles. I tried using the action sequences plugins from yanfly but when I input the mentions name the battler just stands still and doesn't move so I was wondering how I get the game to play the custom motions, Do I need a plugin or did I just mess up with the note tags?

Thank you for reading through this and thanks in advance for the help.

You don't actually need

<Sideview Battler Motion: Fang Blade, 15>

That's not going to do anything. the rest of what you have is correct. to call that in the action sequence you'd need to do the following...

custom motion Fang Blade: user

so yeah, you will need Yanfly action sequences. It took me second to figure this one out myself honestly. oh, if that doesn't work (and I don't know why it wouldn't, I've just never used more than one word...), try either one word like fang, blade, or fangblade. but Fang Blade should work, again... I've never tried using two words because I wasn't sure how it'd work lol.

So I don't need the first part, I can just put whatever name I need to for the custom motion to work?

Basically what you need is the following...

<Sideview Battler: 'whatever the name of you spritesheet is'>

<Sideview Battler Size: 'width and height of the sheet'>

<Sideview Battler Motion>

Name: Fang Blade

Index: 15

Frames: 19

Speed: 6

</Sideview Battler Motion>

so yeah, you don't need the first part.

hello, sorry for the late reply haven't been checking my emails lately and I've swapped with work. but anyway I did try the method you told me but nothing changed so would I need to put it in the skill note tag or with the other motions in the actor note tag?

in the actor's note tag with the rest of the motions you have.

I've been trying very hard to distance myself from my inspirations, but maybe It would be better just to accept it.

Just going to use stationary water for the randomized maps. Sure, particles would look cool... But this is about compromising and not spending countless hours making the perfect water particle for each set piece with water. :kaoswt:
Maybe I should get rid of the Banish ability in my game. It's a non-elemental spell that doesn't even appear in the magic chart. It's only there because my Elementalist doesn't use light or dark magic. It only effects summoned creatures.
