I recently stumbled into this rather bizarre situation where I cant get the game to display the name of Actor 1 in a separate name box. Instead its displayed inside the text box as part of the text. This seems to happen only when I use the "\N[1]" command, the name is displayed correctly but in the wrong place. This does not affect any other names.(using \N<x> command)

Here is how it looks:

Here is the transcript of the event in the screenshot:
◆Set Movement Route:Librarian (Wait)
: :◇Turn Right
◆If:Job q = 5
◆Text:None, Window, Bottom
: :\N<Librarian>
: :Hello, how can I help you?
◆Text:MC_real(0), Window, Bottom
: :Umm, hello. I have this flyer, it says that students can sign up
: :here for a job.
◆Text:MC_real(0), Window, Bottom
: :Is the right place?
◆Show Picture:#1, Hand_info1, Upper Left (0,0), (100%,100%), 255, Normal
◆Text:None, Dim, Middle
: :You show the librarian the torn up flyer.
◆Erase Picture:#1
◆Text:None, Window, Bottom
: :\N<Librarian>
: :Yes, that is correct.
◆Text:None, Window, Bottom
: :\N<Librarian>
: :I only need your student ID and we can get you started.
◆Text:MC_real(0), Window, Bottom
: :Sure, here you go.
◆Play SE:Equip2 (90, 100, 0)
◆Text:None, Dim, Middle
: :You gave the Librarian your student ID.
◆Text:None, Window, Bottom
: :\N<Librarian>
: :Ok, give me just a minute.
◆Play SE:keyboard-typing_short (90, 100, 0)
◆Wait:180 frames
◆Text:None, Window, Bottom
: :\N<Librarian>
: :All done. Now you will receive available job offers through email.
: :So check in it once in a while.
◆Text:MC_real(0), Window, Bottom
: :Thank you, but...
◆Text:MC_real(0), Window, Bottom
: :... isn't there anything available right now? I would like to start as soon as possible.
◆Text:None, Window, Bottom
: :\N<Librarian>
: :Well, aren't you an eager one.
◆Show Balloon Icon:Librarian, Music Note
◆Text:None, Window, Bottom
: :\N<Librarian>
: :Sure, just let me take a look.
◆Play SE:keyboard-typing_short (90, 100, 0)
◆Wait:180 frames
◆Text:None, Window, Bottom
: :\N<Librarian>
: :Well, as of now there is only one offer here. The local pizzeria
: :is looking for some help...
◆Text:MC_real(0), Dim, Top
: :Hmm, there is only one pizzeria in town. Its pretty close to
: :my place. It may be a pretty good choice.
◆Text:None, Window, Bottom
: :\N<Librarian>
: :...although they didn't specify what kind of help.
◆Text:MC_real(0), Dim, Top
: :Why wouldn't they mention that?
◆Show Balloon Icon:Player, Question
◆Text:None, Window, Bottom
: :\N<Librarian>
: :Well, either way you should go and ask them directly. Here is your ID.
: :Have a nice day.
◆Text:MC_real(0), Window, Bottom
: :Oh, well I guess I'll go and do that. Thank you.
◆Text:None, Dim, Middle
: :You took you student ID back.
◆Text:MC_real(0), Window, Bottom
: :Goodbey.
◆Play SE:Equip2 (90, 100, 0)
◆Control Variables:#0101 Job q -= 1
◆Plugin Command:Quest NextStep 2

:Else
◆Text:None, Window, Bottom
: :\N<Librarian>
: :Hello, did you need anything else?
◆Text:MC_real(0), Window, Bottom
: :\N[1]
: :No, not at the moment.

:End

Just for the record I use the SRDudes Automatic names plugin. However(as you can see at the end of the event) even turning that off and typing the command in manually does nothing. Which is why I assume this a YEP issues.

Is this a limitation of the plugin or am I missing something?

In advance, thank you for your answers.

\N[x] is a capability of RPG Maker MV without any plugins, where it replaces \N[x] with the name of Actor ID# x. As you have shown in the screenshot and event transcript, it is working exactly as expected.

\N[1] is replaced by "MC", so it becomes the full text of "MCNo, not at the moment."

The reason why it is not creating a separate name window is because you are not telling it to create a separate name window. The capability added by the Yanfly plugin is \N<x> where x is whatever text that is to be displayed in the separate name window.
For example, if you wanted to display "MC" in the separate name window:
Code:
\N<\N[1]>

Great, thank you. I'm still relatively new to this so misunderstood the instructions. Now everything works as it should.

No problem - I also use this method and the SRD Automatic Name Box plugin to automate it. For each of the characters face picture, in the Plugin parameters I set a code such as:
Code:
\NR<\C[14]\N[5]>
Which means to create a name window with the name of Actor #5 in color #14. I use placeholder names for the actor until I decide what the name should be, and this is quite useful. Or if you let the player choose the name then it's also useful. I'm not sure how your picture bust plugin works but hopefully you can also automate it this way, it saves a lot of time!

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
