Ok, this will hopefully be an easy issue to resolve. I'm repurposing the Equip Requirements page to be an weapon/armor description page and would like to change the usual text "Requirements" that shows at the top to read the name of the selected weapon/armor instead. This is what I mean:

I'm basically just looking for the escape code or scriptcall to get the name of the weapon/armor. Is this possible?

I'd be willing to bet that the plugin parameter there is only a string, and it probably doesn't read escape codes.

That said, you can look at the below function, and change the text being drawn to whatever you want:

    this.resetFontSettings();
    this.changeTextColor(this.systemColor());
    var ww = this.contents.width;
    this.drawText(Yanfly.Param.EqReqTitle, 0, 0, ww, 'center');
