Wait? Did you hear that? That's right! The fourth demo was released!!
Hey, listen! You're here reading this and you're probably thinking:
"I don't need another generic role-playing game in my life, why should I play this?"
Well, child, you're in the right place.
Yet Another RPG is astoundingly generic and unique that the universe cannot simply handle it.
Alright, I admit, it isn't the best hook, but please continue onward!
The title screen welcomes you!
Of course, to see the animation, you'd have to *cough* download the game. *cough*
All was fine and dandy in the Mortal World. Buuuuuut, suddenly, a plot device occurs in the heavens! Arial, an angel, or better known as the Main Character, found himself wingless while reminiscing on what it means to be a divine being. And that's, y'know, a huge deal. Wingless angels are just like, nothing. So, like any good RPG Hero, he has to go find out why, because an RPG game is not an RPG game without curious RPG heroes. (That's rule #1 of RPGs!) So then he realizes that he's been deemed corrupted and impure! After an Epic Battle of the Century with the apparent most powerful being alive, the Archangel (AKA main antagonist) he discovers that he was transported to the Mortal World, which was recently invaded by hordes of otherworldly demon monsters! So, in order to progress the story and plot, Arial carries on, giving us a taste on what it truly means to be a mortal and the interesting things called "Humans" he meets throughout the Mortal World and attempting to find a way back to the heavens. Will he ever make it back? I dunno! This is only the fourth demo!
YARPG's got a whole bunch of features that are included with the box! Incredible!
- If you came looking for a fully constructed building, then I'm sorry to disappoint, but we're missing one wall, specifically the fourth.
- Take on challenging challenges, puzzling puzzles, and monstrous monsters!
- Venture on an epic-sized adventure like those you've likely been on before!
- Hope you have a brain, because you'll need some thinking power in some of the fights!
- Enjoyable clichéd plot with an original, sweet taste!
- Funky, strange, laughable dialogue!
- Oh, and satire. That's also included.
No game is complete without having some screenshots!
Demo 4 Screenshots
Determination can be a powerful force if used correctly...
Huh... The world map looks kinda small...
Enhance your abilities (and equipment) with the power of Infusion!
Don't you love it when cutscenes restrict your ability to act?
This is a very difficult decision. The fate of the world rests upon your shoulders... Which option will you choose?
I can't wait to play the Syphoner's League MMO! How much to subscribe monthly?
I'm sure the Poké Flute could help you out... If only it wasn't in another game series.
Demo 3 Screenshots
Spoiler
Three days?! How typical.
Dang it, Arial! We worked hard on that dialogue!
He wasn't a silent protagonist?! What is this, a fanfiction?
Thanks, game, I couldn't have gone through the text adventure without your help!
Look at those sleek resource bars... Wait, are those Pokémon?! I thought this was a satire game, not an ode to Nintendo!
When you get a Game Over, Arial'll say some sort of witty comment. This isn't one of them; you're saved, for now.
Remember, if you're out of a job, just host trivia challenges! It'll earn you the big bucks.
Agh, cliffhangers! I hate those.
Demo 2 Screenshots
The number besides the (Demo) part lets you know what # demo it is! Helpful markers for the win!
A visually updated battle system.
Some protagonists don't have obvious gender-defining characteristics! Stop being prejudiced Mr. Guard!
Hey! We're not lying to you at all, Arial. No way!
Is this... Hammerspace?
End sprite discrimination today!
This happens way too often in RPGs. Skipping text is bad! This PSA was brought to you by Yet Another RPG.
Your local Guidebook can be quite the tsundere! Watch out what you ask it!
Demo 1 Screenshots
Fine-tuned mapping! Just look at those angels!
Our Main Character, Arial, complaining about the inconvenient placement of the logs.
The first challenge of the game, the one that tests your ability to mash the Attack command.
Arial utilizing RPG Logic.
Spoiler Alert: The Illusive Guy is an avid Nintendo fan.
"Sorry dude, you're just a plot device."
Showing off (Partially) the battle system.
A little note from the developer
Hey! Thanks for considering Yet Another RPG! As a note, the majority of this project's story has been or will be created spontaneously, the plot may be confusing, but that is intentional, the story wasn't meant to be planned from the beginning stages of the project design. I feel that this adds enjoyment to developing and overall more randomness in the story line to players. Thank you for understanding!
For four years I've been making this game without a clear or set in stone plot. It's been a wild ride so far! I hope you can continue to enjoy it as much as I have!

--Hotfix #5 [Demo 4]--
-Fixed a game-breaking bug that prevents you from progressing the game after clearing the fourth dungeon.
~~~Demo 4~~~
-Fourth official release of Yet Another RPG!
-Investigate the attack on the Syphoner's League!
-Meet an emotive young mage seeking to help her guild.
-Experience a wild variety of challenges to test your mental acuity.
-The Yet Another RPG Experience™ will make you come back for more.
-Probably.
-Continue to recover the MacGuffins in the Mortal World.
-So you remember for Demo 3's change log we said you can collect more worthless trash for Kyros? Yeah, we added more.
-Around 9 hours of gameplay.
-Added some cool new fullscreen and screen resolution functionality! We never liked having to squint our eyes to play a game meant for ants. In game, pressing the F6 to upscale the -window size and F5 to toggle fullscreen mode!
-Clarified the main mechanic vs ??? during Arial's dream sequence. Okay look we get that "???" is a tough name to remember but stick with us.
-Fixed an embarrassing description mishap for Kyro's cup retrieval quest. "East" now changed to "west." Please forgive us.
-Previously, when someone equipped Angel's Hope or Angel's Faith, the game would break when it activated. The game Hoped for a fix, and in good Faith, we gave it a fix.
-Tidied some areas in the game to make them look more polished and clean. We swear this game passed the alpha phase.
-Some enemies and objects in the d'Aubigne Mining Facility were intangible. They were caught by our cheating filters and appropriately banned.
-Trading in the Fortune for Angel's Hope or Angel's Faith should be more streamlined now and less complex in process.
-Janky things happening when using a Scroll:Escape no longer happen. We told it to be nicer (not really).
-Sometimes, when you load a save file, some things respawned where they shouldn't be. We kindly showed them to their proper stage locations.
-We disabled the Autoattack feature during a particular battle after the text adventure. Deal with it.
-Oh, and the Angel's Hope and Faith armor pieces shouldn't be breaking the game either during this battle.
-In the same battle, Arial had the chance to miss. We honed his accuracy during that specific part. Really ruined the immersion.
-We added the ability to return back to the d'Aubigne Mining Facility after completing the dungeon, but only for a specific time frame...
-Save files display some more information now such as the Demo you started with and how many battles you fought!
-Remember Battle Horns? Yeah, they actually work now.
-During the Stonecreek Town invasion, when Dennis was the only one left alive during the battle, and then he died, bad things would happen. No longer!
-Infusion was previously very problematic. We performed some surgery and now it's solutionatic.
-That just means that it actually works now.
-Tweaked and tuned some graphical glitches all throughout the game.
-Plus some other minor fixes that we forgot to document. Don't blame us, dude.
-Oh, and some more silly writing. That too.
--Hotfix #4 [Demo 3]--
-Actually fixed the fight vs. Lexie in Arial's dream.
-Spoiler Alert: just let her kill you.
-More minor bug fixes that are too minor to list here! Don't you love it when the developers are thorough with their change logs?
--Hotfix #3 [Demo 3]--
-Fixed the issue with saves not being able to be loaded.
-Improved the patching system.
--Hotfix #2 [Demo 3]--
-Polished a bit of the dialogue and added even more witty comments. As if we needed those.
-Arial's flashback is no longer a nightmare. Skeletons shouldn't purposely trap you in anymore. Thank us later.
-Added revival items during the invasion of Stonecreek sequence. Find 'em like you would any other item during that part!
-Divine Barrier now protects against all debuffs.
-Fighting Lexie in Arial's dream is different now. You no longer have to wait 20 seconds to win the fight. Instead, what is something you can do that won't damage her?
-Fixed the issue where talking to Kyros from the left direction softlocks the game. He'll no longer no-clip through you. Hacker.
-The text adventure should be fixed now. Those things are tricky.
-Added a patching system! Downloading the game over and over again? No way!
--Hotfix #1 [Demo 3]--
-Fixed an issue where you couldn't interact with the ledges in the Mercenary Guild Trials after interacting with them and declining to jump down.
-Fixed a bug where some events would return to their original position after reloading a certain map.
You want the Download Link, not the Download Zelda.
Each demo (episode) contains the content of every demo released prior.
(e.g. Demo 4 contains everything from Demo 1 to Demo 3 as well.)
If you've downloaded Demo 4 before 10/2/2016, please download Hotfix #5 and follow the readme.txt to patch your game!
Previous Demo Releases
Each download includes the RPG Maker VX Ace RTP (Run-Time Package).
Note on Demo 3 - Hotfix #4
When downloading hotfixes and other patches, make sure to extract the .RAR file in the main folder of the game.
There should be a Patch folder within the main folder with the appropriate files within.
Unfortunately, current save files aren't compatible with the latest patch.
However, we added an option to pick up right before the fight vs. Lexie in Arial's Dream in the latest patch.
To access it, start a New Game and select to begin at the start of Demo 2. You'll be able to inspect a book outside.
When you inspect this book, you'll be given the ability to sequence-break to the fight. This hasn't been thoroughly tested and MAY break other things.
Thank you for understanding!
If you have any questions or concerns about YARPG or somethin' else and you don't have a Facebook, well, you're in luck! You can follow us on Twitter, too!
The project so far wouldn't have been possible without these people!
Thanks a whole lot to all of them! Please check them out if you like what you see in the demo.
