Me and my sister just finished playing through your game. We both LOVED the characters, they were really funny and interesting. I really liked the relationship dynamic of the two. I saw some of your posts about potentially using them for future material, and i think that would be really awesome because I'm already really attached to the main chars and i don't wanna see them go yet
Finally, I'd like to say your art is amazing. Your ability to make expressions really made the characters come alive. I adored Victors funny expressions and Fermats serious ones. I was LIVING for the funny descriptions of the equipment.
I can understand why there's a lot of it your game is great! Loved the characters so much, they make the story just by themselves and i think it was the point.
Sure you've used the basic stuff when i comes to resource and all but you used it well, everything was in the right place.
Maybe there was a little too much random encounter, they're pretty useless since you can't really level up or anything but it does give you a sense of overpower that's quite nice for a short game like this one
Anyway, as mentioned if you have a link to the full view of the characters I'd like to see them and also maybe a continuation? It's possible, I'm sure you could pull it off!
First - thank you very much for playing the game! I watched the let's play as well, so I'll comment on both your nice comment and the great video~!
I'm so honoured by how delighted and excited you were by the characters and the story. As a writer, it's just--- it's flattering on a level I can't quite put to words to see someone getting attached to your characters, laughing at your jokes, and feeling along with the story. Your Let's Play was an absolute treat~ It was also a good learning tool, as all let's plays are, from a developer standpoint. (I should maybe make it more obvious that they both have MP Regen at all times so players are a little less leery to use MP, and maybe make it more obvious that using Att/Def boosts on Victor, or Mnd/Spd boosts on Fermat is pointless, as they are both maxed out on that respective stat.)
This was in many ways to fill the urge to game dev between projects and to give 2K3 a test ride, thus the use of the default resources. I'm glad they were able to give you a bit of nostalgia though ;D (as someone who started out with 2k, I understand~) Plus, since resources do not make or break a game, I'm very glad to see that the story was still enjoyable despite that.
Switching to a spoiler box~
When you got to the twist at the end and found out that they were BOTH one part of the demon lord and your dead silence for a few seconds after... That made the entire few days working on this game worth it. I relied on the fact that that twist wasn't as easy to predict to soften the fact that figuring out they are both probably demons was pretty easy. It's nice to see it work xD Plus, your overall reluctance to hurt Fermat on the (still strangely not working right) one on one battle - it showed me how attached you were. I was pleading 'don't worry! Victor said it would be alright, he won't hurt him. you can fight ;o;' I really have to figure out what is still not working in that battle - it's a lot more balanced when I run it from the test battle (like Fermat ACTUALLY casts SPELLS and doesn't waste his time attacking for 0 lol
I should find a way to make it more apparent, but the Overlord's spell "Shatter Hope" will dispel the Queen's Heroes' regeneration.
I don't have full artwork of them yet but here's their original sketches. Along with a spoiler character's ;D
Unfortunately, with the time span I allotted myself to make this game, there wasn't time for full body references, but since--- I 100% want to make a sequel game, I'll be making some down the road. I'll be sure to share them here! Oh. and there's the answer to that one - I really REALLY want to make a continuation - and there's still some loose ends at large that give me the opportunity to do that.
Thank you again for taking the time to play my game, and record and share your experience!

I didn't really have the time to properly give you a thanks for the comments so here it is!
Thanks for the comments I shall now proceed to print it and keep it as daily motivation. (hope it's formal enough)
I had a lot of fun with this, which was just what I needed.
I got a glitch with choosing the character to play. I get Victor's description and then a choice screen asking me if I want to play as Victor, Yes or No. When I choose No it just gives me Victor's description again and the same choice. So after several attempts (including reloading) I went with Victor.
I didn't read your question before starting, so I didn't make a specific note, but there was a comment by Victor about flesh eating, and I now can't remember exactly when with Fermat.
What I didn't expect was that they were both the Demon Overlord.
Well done with this. Such a nice ending. Wish I could make even a simple game as fast as you.
You should just be able to press the left and right keys at anytime the description is filling in (it's actually two images and not a text box) to switch between both characters. I've never had trouble with it. mmmm I'll fiddle around with it in a trying to break it mindset later and see if I can get it to muck up.
Glad you enjoyed the game and the story~ It's a lot of fun trying to churn something out on a super tight deadline xD (no less stressful though)
Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!
Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
