Heya. I've tried out the new updated demo and I must say great stuff there. I see lots of improvements. Graphically it looks better now, and music is definitely better too now and a lot more vivid than the tracks in the old demo.
Overall, awesome stuff and good luck with the remainder of the Kickstarter.
The new train scene was pretty fantastic, both visually and gameplay-wise, though I found the boss fight a bit too hard. A lot of the time using my light burst attack wouldn't stun or push him away and he'd still deal damage to me. Also I remember he could still damage me even when I just applied the invincibility crystal. But otherwise this was pretty epic. The cutscenes were really nice and well made, and the humour was well-timed. Not sure what the easter eggs were exactly, but I did find some cool stuff like Petula's journal entry about the sledgehammer. I'm a bit confused, but is the demo supposed to end so suddenly? I'm supposed to get to the ferry, but as soon as I get to the bottom of the map, it fades to black and then brings me back to where I was.
Also a couple of small criticisms:
1. I found some parts to be a bit laggy. Not sure what caused it, but I mostly encountered it in the bell tower and also inside the cave, in the darker areas.
2. The platform puzzle in the cave. Every time I pulled one of those switches, the camera would jerk down and up really fast, which can be a bit annoying if I have to keep pressing the switches at least a dozen of times to solve the puzzle. I don't remember it being like that in the old demo and I personally think it's best if the camera just stays as it is (though probably best to see what other people say). I mean I can still see them all fine from here, so I don't see the need to move the camera down and up really fast:
