I just feel like starting a discussion. If this isn't the right place to post it please move it.
(it is video games so I think this is the right place.)
I guess to start I'll say Megalomania from LIVE A LIVE is one of my favorite Battle Themes.
Battle from Quest 64 (this is a remastering remix, but same melody)
Oh boy, I love battle music and there are so many. I bet I'll be forgetting some, but here we go.
Pretty much every battle theme from Final Fantasy games. Don't want to post them all, so I'll just post my favourite. @Lornsteyn already posted Still More Fighting, so I'll post another couple of my favourites:
Seriously, guys? No Golden Sun? The first game's battle theme is my favourite regular battle theme of all time, it's an absolutely incredible piece of work. Saturos' Boss Battle was also so good it got remixed and used for bonus bosses in Dark Dawn. Just amazing stuff.
"Serpent Eating The Ground" from Bravely Default is one of the best final boss themes I've ever heard. The way it builds up into a crescendo before kicking right into each of the four main characters' leitmotifs at around 4:40 is incredible, and it's one of the most intelligently-composed themes in the entire genre.
I've always liked the music of the Dept Heaven series, especially Knights in the Nightmare. Some tracks are melancholic, others are powerful, and my personal favourite manages to combine the two into a truly excellent battle theme.
Otherworld from Final Fantasy X is also a favourite, I'm a metal fan anyway so I was always going to like it but damn man, what a track. The bassline is so fun to play as well.
I also have a soft spot for all of Metal Gear Rising's boss themes, they're absolutely ridiculous but so is the game, so it works well. Red Sun is a particular favourite for how not-over-the-top it is compared to something like Stains of Time. Another reason Red Sun is my favourite is how well it mashes up with the Space Jam theme, which is hilarious and shouldn't work but it just does.
There's a bunch of others I don't really have the space to mention here, but Deathguise's theme from Final Fantasy IX comes close to getting on this list, along with The Extreme from Final Fantasy VIII (the best bit of that game, to be honest) and anything using that classic Final Fantasy battle bassline. Soon as that kicks in I always end up tapping my fingers along with it, no matter what.
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
