the title can be a little weird but let me clarify

in book a author between each novel he will write  he will  make a one thing will always or almost appear in is novel somewhere

like a way he write a word or simply a scene who appear a lot in his book ;3

so for you gamer did you put a some kind of "signature" in your game ?

for myself I always do in someway a "Cat allusion"

because I love cat so I decide to put this like a "signature"  for all my games I made :3

so for you what is your game "signature" :  D ?

I like to leave something that involve pie. It's a somewhat inside joke with some friends so we occasionally leave it around or say it randomly to get some laughs.

Unfortunately...  No.  I really don't think about some kind of "signature" for my work.  Maybe that's kind of weird, I don't know.  I tend to just try to do something unique every time I do something.  Maybe my signature is "serious stories" and "anti-heroes"?

I like to make stories that may not necessarily have happy endings...  Or have bittersweet endings.  I like sad.  Sad is like happy... except for deep people.  I also really like "anti-hero" characters as they tend to feel more realistic.  As in, they're not goody two shoes characters who are just paragons of rainbows, sunshine, and virtue.

So maybe that's my signature?  I don't know.

yep this is totally your signature

a signature is totally a "tendency" of how you direct your game or what you put in your game myself I love always have  one character who have a sad story in my games

but my most noticeable is the Cats allusion who always appears in a scene or like a character this

is not a lack of imagination this I think more like : your Sweety stuff the thing you never get bored to put because you love it so much

There is a running gag underlying in my games and if anyone put it all together I'd have to personally congratulate them. I guess it is a small ridiculous story running in the subtext spanned over several games.

  • And the encounter always use Flame sprite
  • Dungeon exploration with limited visibillity (VX Version use MA fog of war while VXA version use Galv visibility)
  • Collectables item
  • Accessories naming are similar
  • Not to mention, we also use same BGM

I have nothing yet. But in my designs, I have some recurring themes. I often parody my very first RPG Maker hero as another character (similar appearance and color scheme, and unique power, but different person, with a different main "class") His animal sidekick often appears with him even in these parodies...

I made a sort-of "mascot" character or two that I plan to put in several games. Like sometimes as a story character, sometimes as a secret character.

I have some lame inside jokes I plan to sneak into my projects. But again, nothing yet.

I'm not really sure if I have a certain "signature" but I think I tend to make the characters backgrounds have ups and downs.

There's usually a near-death experience of one character.

And there's also the "unfinished relationships" where the game ends before two characters come together or simply having no confession at all even when there are many scenes that imply that those two will come together.

Mmh...I don't think I have any more than this.

If I had a game signature, it would be that I really want all of my "villains" as well as the heroes to have good, solid reasons for doing what they're doing.  Of course that's from their point of view.

I consider the villains the ones who don't really care what the consequences are to anyone else, as long as their ends are reached --- blind extremism, perhaps.  The heroes, although they certainly may be flawed, at least consider the consequences to others before trying to push forward with their ends.

I guess I like shades of grey when it comes to heroes and villains.  I'm not a fan of villains who are just evil Because I Say So.  It's much better, in my eyes, to have a villain who truly believes he is saving the world --- while he is setting it aflame, than just have a villain who likes destroying worlds.

And a hero who isn't good Because I Say So.  Why would s/he care about this event?  If there's no good reason, I don't involve the heroes in it.

I don't really like recurring themes like that. In most books I can think of that have them they eventually piss me off. (Examples: Sword of Truth series repeatedly drilling 'freedom at all costs' theme even twelve books into the bloody series. If you are reading book #freaking12 then you get it already, so it's pointless to continue to allude to the same theme all of the time as if it is new. Same with the kingslayer Chronicles, 'words are wind' got it, didn't need two dozen iterations per book to get it either.) The closest thing to that I'm going to bother with intentionally (assuming I actually produce two separate games at some point) will be the splash screen you see at the beginning of the game. No reason really to drill a personally held concept into a 'signature', isn't your name on the game as the developer enough?

it sure be repetitive is not all good but I guess in game this is more a feature who reappear in a lot of game like the final fantasy with the mog

I guess a signature will more work if you keep the SAME Universe

but for me simply I just put cat allusion simply I Love this and this can't be repetitive because the theme is open

Well, all my games would probably take Phantasma in the header title (Like for Chicken Games, it is Phantasma Ludus: Chicken Games)

Plus I use mostly my own scripts, so I guess that's a signature kind of thing too.

I usually have at least 1 chase scene somewhere in each game that I make. It just greatly helps to change the pacing a bit and lets the player do something different, so I normally try to put at least 1 somewhere, and these chase scenes can differ. It doesn't necessarily have to be you being chased by someone, could be the other way around too.

I also often tend to have a character called 'Rick' somewhere, which is my brother's name. A lot of the time said character ends up being related to some inside joke between me and my bro.

I am sure there are more themes common to most of my games. Like strong female protagonists that exist for more than just being someone's romantic interest.

for future helper game series: I usually put some sort of mission that was requested by an unknown person which in the end it was me.

Non future helper series: Sometime I put reference to the future helper game and sometime I put myself into that game in any form.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
