God is a trap.

I myself find the Puppet kind of disturbing. Also, you might be mistaken for thinking that the hand's giving you the finger.

Yeah, the front view battlers have definitely gotten disturbing. Did you notice the extra slime on the Mimic, Gazer, Plant, and Slime?

Anyone else appreciate how bare bones default database is, outside of set animations and stuff like that?

It was easy to people start thinking Database names for things were the official names and everything was too established in many categories. My commercial game uses some skills almost as is because they were there by default (RPG Maker VX Ace.)

Mabye I'm odd, but I thought most of them were really, really cool. I think the "God" one is extremely interesting in particular. And the Behemoth is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen and I want one. Also the Orc and his widdle boots! Aww!

However, I will concede that the demon was my, "Oooooh, oh my."

The Dark Lord-final (eheheheheh), he's disturbing and my favourite battler too in MV. Reminds me about Ultima Weapon from FFVIII, he is like a demonic centaur sort of, with demonic-flame wings, a huge cyclopic eye on his face and a whole additional face with a big mouth on the lower part of his body, he also has snakes as additional arms, fancy horns and a huge dragon tail. I really like his design, he looks both awesome and frightening at the same time.

The Evil God is pretty scary too, he sorta looks like a cartoony version of Nyarlathotep in some way (from the Cthulhu Mythos).

I feel like someone was playing a lot of Bayonetta while making some of the new sprites.

And then somewhat unrelated, I feel like some the the RTP clothing sets and characters might've been inspired by Maplestory.

I love them all, too. In my opinion, the god-like battlers have a lot of hands and faces to show common godly attributes - omnscience, omnipotence, etc. The god battler with both a male and female face is also a godly attribute - a deity having both a male and female aspect. Of course, it could also just be plain creative awesomeness, but that's my take on them.

Awwh. No love for the demon. I think he has a lot of character. How can you say no to that smile?

If you think the default battlers are disturbing, check out the SF battlers. One of them is called "Abomination", the name is fitting. Ewww.

Anyway, someone should totally make an MV Behemoth plush.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
