So hi people I wanted to know  we all know Anime personalities are Exaggerations so we all know they are not properly exist

so I wanted to know wich "personalities" you like the most in characters  in anime?

for myself I pretty much love the "tsundere" attitude  who are kinda annoying but cute in same times because they can't be honest to themself so they always finish to insult the boy she's love....but after I hate the tsundere who are bad worked who abuse of the bad sides of the characters this only make them horrible person in my opinion.

my perfect example of a good tsundere is Taiga from toradora : D

on the other side when it's come to male I love the personalities of the calm one the one who have a cool head and never express is angryness like "sota" from wagnaria!

so what's about you guys : D ?

Depictions of short tempter often make me laugh. Dictionary reference, see: Edward Elric.
I have to admit those one are also really funny but they need to have a "limit" because sometime they can be annoying :c

I pretty like characters with serious personality. These characters that "seem" to keep a poker face no matter what.

Ex: Fate/Zero characters, Tomoya (Clannad), Yûji (Grisaia no Kajitsu)

Well, Tomoya isn't that serious, but he is not the type of character who blushes for nothing when there is a girl around.

I like the dandere character type the ones who are shy. I don't want it too exaggerated like Hinata from Naruto; where she faints when Naruto does something romantically suggestion with or to her. One dandere I think that was done right was Shinime <---(I don't think I spelt her name right) from Blue Exorcist. She started very shy but, did want to make friends. She eventually grew more confident throughout the series.

As for male characters to be driven and serious about what they do. A good example is Toru from Chaika the Coffin Princess. Despite being a little tsundere at times his conviction is what made me like him, he would help Chaika in every way he could. He was also quite smart as well, I sometimes find it fun when they outsmart their opponents.

Most of the personality tropes are alright, but they need to be balanced. Obviously, too many brooding wangsters gets dull and depressing, but too many goofballs or grouches gets annoying, too.

Me personally LOVE Yandere types. I don't quite know the allure of insane and warped love to the point of endangering others around you (I have a quirk for the crazy ones :3). Examples would include the queen herself Gasai Yuno, Shiba Miyuki, Esdeath and Nishikinomiya Anna~ Man I'm weird lol

I'm not sure how to describe why, but Tomoyo Daidouji (Cardcaptor Sakura) is still my favorite anime character. While not really a sidekick, she plays her roll in almost every scinerio, and can often eclipse the other main characters. Plus she makes costumes, a plus for any cosplayer. Her friendship with Sakura is oft musunderstood, let alone the fact they are cousins. I usually have a character similar in some of my stories and games.

On the other hand, Setsuna Meioh kicks some a$$. I probably share more traits with her then many characters in anime, so, yeah. Guess her type would be the silent sentry guardian.

Gintoki from Gintama. In serious moments he has just a plain awesome personality and he knows what to say when it counts. Plus he has some serious balls.

Hiruma from Eyeshield 21. He acts cruel and bossy but behind all that there is a sweet person who does questionable things to achieve his goals. However he has never actually broke the law, maybe? Money equals ass kicking I guess.

L. Lawlett from Death Note. His anime version is quite awesome. He acts cold and claims that he just wants to win the cases by any means necessary but he still shows concern for safety of others.

*sneaks in here*

I like the tsunderes, same way as you. I dont like them like Louise from The Familiar of Zero (ZeroNoTsukaima)

But yes, tsunderes are love. Also, I like the super chill girls who may also be the badass of the group. Cant find an example character but...like Kuuderes? but without the dere... you know?

As for males... Take... Rei from Free! Iwatobi. Wow what an initially snobby loser guy. love this guy

Also, for both of the genders, I like the ones who are outgoing, hyper, excited and always ready to do something completely ridiculous (side effect is that they're sometimes the 'cute' ones of their group)

example: Nagisa from the same anime as Rei or Tomo Takiyo from Azumanga Daioh

As far as anime girls go I really enjoy the cool-tempered, optimistic, sweet girls that, to a fault, just want everyone around them to be happy.  Offhand a few of my favorites are Miyuki from Lucky Star, Yukine and Sanae from Clannad, Colette from Tales of Symphonia, the Crimson Scholar from Maoyuu, Amy from IGPX, Sayuri from Kanon, and Tohru from Fruits Basket.  I don't know whether there's any term for characters like this, but I think of it sort of like a more innocent and spunky form of "Yamato Nadeshiko".

And for anime guys, I tend to really like the ones that are the mature, vaguely kind-hearted ones that seem "too cool for school" because they're so damn comfortable in their own skin (rather than acting that way out of disdain or loner syndrome).  Tomoya from Clannad is a really good example, as are Yasu from Nana, Kakashi from Naruto, and Malik from Tales of Graces.

As an aside, tsundere tendencies are about the only way to assure that I will never like a character, male or female.  I don't find that kind of double-standard expression to be funny or endearing, and when no one so much as notices that the character is being a brat (at least this is the way I personally see it), it completely shatters my immersion in the events taking place.

As Clord said, L from Death Note quite intrigued me; a boy who always sits with his knees up, runs with his arms drooping (according to the 3rd live-action movie) and only eats sweets while being one of the best detectives in the world while being a black belt in martial arts.

An enigmatic package that had me watching the anime six times through,.. mainly to understand the ending... which I still can't fathom.

Johan from Monster is another; a man wrapped in mystery but with the reputation of a monstrous mastermind who manipulates everyone around him into doing very disturbing things.

The dude in glasses who seems serious and cool but isn't. The guy in glasses who seems serious and cool and is!

The smirking jerk faces you want to kick down flights of stairs. The people who are so fantastically evil and messed up on the inside you ask yourself constantly why you like them but continue to.

The mad scientists.

The pathetic child who needs all the hug in the world.

The cute as a button girls who smile like shunshine and often get written poorly it makes me extremely happy when they are written well.

Also sengougahara.

Examples: shinra from durarara, kyuoya from ouran, gilgamesh and kotomine from fate zero, Slaine from aldnoah zero, stein from soul eater, chiyo and from devil was a partimer and sengougahara.

I usually like characters that seem "harmless" at first, but could actually kill people. (Arslan from Arslan Senki, Saber from Fate/Zero/Stay night)

Or the "sassy, badass, scary character actually being a pure cinnamon roll" (Archer from Fate/Stay night, Daryun from Arslan Senki)

I also like the characters that are the douchebags of the show XD (Jade from Tales of the Abyss, Gilgamesh from Fate/Zero/Stay night)

Then there's the dork brigade XD (Ringabel from Bravely default, Waver from Fate/Zero)

And the "Bro"s (Rider from Fate/Zero, Klein from Sword art online)

And the pure cinnamons rolls (Luke from Tales of the abyss, Sorey from Tales of Zestiria)

I could say I like Tsunderes as well, but there are too many subtypes of them, so I can't exactly say that I like all of them. (Senjougahara from Bakemonogatari)

Well, I think that's all fro now. I guess ^^° I just realized, most of them are guys Oo Are there really so less girls I like?

EDIT: No, there's another girl! Kido from Kagerou Project/Mekaku City Actors (Tsundere)

The Lelouche vi Brittania type. Cold, calculating, planning everything ten steps ahead of the opponent AND the viewer, but still human, still having friends, and not only capable of making

a serious mistake, but able to accept that he messed up instead of delude himself that he is invincible.

Never liked Light Yagami though.

I like the stranger type of characters, the ones who do something weird, but not everything they do is weird. This is probably why I like JJBA so much. I also really like the hammy types as well. I also like the really destestable villians like Dio Brando. Characters like Kenshiro I really like too since it's not like he has a hidden heart of gold, his heart of gold is basically his defining character trait. I also admit that I like Yandere.

A trait I can't stand is a character that seems to be there so people can project themselves on them to feel badass.

I think we can all agree that Miles Edgeworth is quite a personality by himself. Although he doesn't star in actual anime series.

Main protagonist is rarely my favorite character, with exception of MIles Edgeworth.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
