Apparently, Zed is the British English version of Z, but I don't remember being taught to pronounce it like that in school when I learnt the alphabet. Zee just sounds much more pleasing to my ears, has a softer tone. Zed just makes me think of that character from Police Academy.

The more I look at stuff and think about it, the more I think Yanfly's more quality of life plugins have been included in MZ. Things such as the core engine, auto save (leaks), the leaks also mention adding a clone class to JS objects. So I suspect either/both Event Spawner/Cloner being present. I admit I will be surprised if Self Variables/Self Switches doesn't make it.... It's a functionally present in every other serious/semi-serious engine.

But with Yanfly leaving the scene, the money left behind to make certain they're updated for future versions, and what's been said by important people in these threads... It only makes sense to have moved the "core functionality" plugins into MZ.

//shrugs
Just speculation though.

Also... Em-Zed..... Yeah that's never getting adopted stateside.

@Veno Yeah the light trail behind my character in my latest video is PIXI particles. But I don't think people really understand what can be done with them. It didn't take much to vastly improve performance and the look of my game (beyond the video) by simply remaking almost all of my graphics in PIXI particles.

Curious how each non native english speaking country learns the pronunciation for "z"
Here in Mexico we learn the pronunciation for "z" either "zee", "zdee" or "zed" depending on the type of english teacher you have, "zee" for American type of english, and "zdee" or "zed" for British type of english.

"zdee" is not British English. I've never ever heard it pronounced like that. I think probably most Brits say zed rather than zee, but with the influence of US entertainment that is changing.

As a Brazilian English teacher myself I'm... Embarassed to admit that only 2 years after quitting English teaching that I came to learn of the distinction between the American and British pronunciations of "Z".

Then again, literally anyone can easily become an English teacher in Brazil... And earn a pittance while at it. At least it was enough to allow me to afford some Cambridge certificates if I ever want to teach in a serious school.

edit: to prove my point, I have 2 years of English Teaching experience but I still haven't finished highschool. It's actually my project for the COVID-19 quarantine. I purchased but returned a high school course because I realized I can easily get it over with with a single test at the end of the year.

Ehhhh I may just try and get myself to call it EmZed instead of EmZee so that when I'm talking to my Hubby he knows what I mean and I don't accidentally say EmVee isntead of EmZee...man it sounds so similar that way. EmZed will at least sound different from EmVee

I have to wonder, if MV was something like Mobile Version or similar....Does emzet means something as Mobile Set? Mobile Setter? Probably I'm just wondering too much

I had the same argument with an english teacher who claimed that "zdee" was not only the British way of pronouncing "z", but also that it was the correct one regardless of where you speak english. I think he might have been confusing languages, because in spanish, "z" is pronounced different in Spain than in Mexico or even Latin America, and the "zdee" sounds a lot like the Spain's pronunciation for "z"

Well, F those Ds in the Bs.
Im from the US, and I never learned my alphabet from A to Zed.
Zed sounds like someone's name, not a freaking letter in an alphabet.
If they ever razzed me, id probably pop a blood vessel and go loco on em.
Im from amurica yo!

Hmm, on a different note - I suppose this means that MV will move out of the Latest Game Development Engines section on the forum front page and come join the riff-raff down in Maker Specific. "How are the mighty fallen!"

Little tidbit: It's apparently pronounced Em-Zed.

I was the only American in a voice meeting last night, and I got razzed pretty hard for calling it Em-Zee :p :p.
Reading Touchfuzzy's comment again, probably they called it Em-Zed because of japanese pronunciation. MZ in japanese would sound like "emzetto", hence the Em-Zed Touchfuzzy was razzed about.
If you were wondering MV would sound in japanese as "embooee"

After an entire year, finally made new story cutscenes. Ones that take place after the current last boss. Praise be.
That moment when you're getting a new update ready, deploy it for the final round of testing (gotta make sure the deployed version runs, ya know?) andddddd there's a visual blip :ysrs: Doesn't impact gameplay. It's only on-screen for a few seconds. But you can't leave it there.
So now you have to fix it, then redeploy, then retest. Why do I do this to myself.
So I'm reading a sci-fi book called Berserker Man. Now, the 'Berserker Man' isn't a man or a Berserker. He is actually a very calm 11 year-old-boy. So misleading title. He was recruited to fight these emotionless killing machines called Berserkers. Also confusing. I will read it until it starts making sense.
A few tweaks and changes, now the load screen is literally loading :kaoswt:

I tried a new thing.
