I kind of went with this in one of my dropped games except there was less pushing boulders and monsters and more "I'm just going to wipe you out so I no longer have to listen to you turds."

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
