Yet another commission has been finished!:kaohi:
This time it's a world map boat theme (which also works as airship theme in my opinion)! The client described the situation like this: "About halfway through the game the player has to visit an island off the southern coast of the continent they are on and they end up getting a small boat built for them, so that they can travel along the shallows along the coast." - I think I got it right~:kaojoy:

    Update because I was bored!:kaohi:
Sometimes I just sit down and compose without a clear concept or idea. I just do and see where it takes me. Well, this time I ended up making this battle theme somehow. Guess that happens when you start with a fast bass line and drums!:kaojoy:

    Another boredom update!:kaohi:
So yeah uh... I was bored again and I was messing around with some percussion. Somehow I ended up composing some sort of "final dungeon" theme. At least that's what I think this is~!:kaojoy:

    Update with something new~!:kaohi:
I felt like I should try out something new and make a song specifically with visual novels in mind. So I sat down and tried it! The result is quite simple but I'm still rather fond of it!:kaojoy:

    Update again!:kaohi:
I went through old drafts and found one that I started a couple of months ago. Originally I only made this to put down a melody I had come up with but I ended up making a simple tune with a trumpet lead~!:kaojoy:

    Udpate! I mean update!:kaohi:
Does this one sound like I felt like synth? Because I felt like synth. I never really explored the plugins that came with FL Studio up until now and I gotta say, I'm glad I did it. I've been using my Native Instruments stuff for so long that I never thought to use the stuff that came with my DAW!:kaojoy:

    Updating, please wait...:kaohi:
For some reason I seem to make more progress when I'm simply messing around in FL than when I'm actually trying to compose! But anyway, I'll take it if it means that I'm actually getting a song done. For this particular messing-around session I ended up with a waiting screen theme; like for an online lobby or something. Might work for other things too!:kaojoy:

    Oh-my-gosh-I-totally-forgot-to-put-my-stuff-in-here update!:kaohi:
I've actually been quite active these past couple of weeks but for some reason I forgot to put my songs in here. Welp, let's amend that and put in the three songs I uploaded to YouTube this past month (in a spoiler because three video players)!:kaojoy:

I don't know why, maybe it was because the summer was ending, but for some reason I felt like composing a little forest-y tune. And since I'm a fan of Yoko Shimomura I thought to myself "why not get inspired by the forest theme from Super Mario RPG"!

For this one I wanted to make something light sounding that would fit something like a dungeon or a cave. For some reason it makes me think of exploring the moon~!

This one I made because why the heck not!

Welp, so much for keeping track of my music thread... I have pretty much abandoned this place for two months, so prepare for a huge freaking update with ALL THE SONGS! Nah, I'm kidding, just the most recent ones should suffice for now!:kaojoy:
These two I actually made for friends!:kaothx:

Sometimes I just get inspired by something someone made and this song is the result of such inspiration. My friend Mori showed me their character Rho and I just had to compose a boss battle theme for him!:kaolivid:

This one was commissioned by my friend Baku who needed a battle theme for their game! I went with a classic 90s, 16-bit RPG sound for this one!:kaopride:

This track really reminds me of Searching for Friends from FFVI!

Yup, that's no coincidence, it's supposed to! The client gave me "Searching for Friends" as a reference piece and wanted my piece to have a similar sound.

Alrighty, time to excavate this thread and hit y'all with some updates cause I've been seriously slacking! I'm actually part of two projects now and I'm drafting my own game too at the moment so I got lots of music to share! I won't drown you in music though, don't worry. For now, here's more of the Magnus RE:set OST!:kaojoy:

This is the boss battle theme for my friend Baku's game. Remember the battle theme I shared like months ago? Yeah, this is the boss battle theme for that game!

And this is the game over screen ambiance. Very much inspired by the good ol' PS2's red screen of death! XD

I also have a bunch of character themes too but I'll save those for the next post!

Alrighty, let's start with the character themes I made!:kaohi:

The character theme for everyone's favourite little, feisty thief - Sanya! I gotta say, this one gave me quite a bit of trouble. I went through four different drafts until I had the sound I wanted!

The character theme for the "mother of the group", Lena the Blacksmith! Just as with Sanya's theme I went through a couple of different versions but this one fit her personality the most!

Wow, has it really been this long since I last posted in here? Ah well, time to show off some new stuff! :kaohi:

I've been incredibly busy these last couple months but now I'm free again and I got lots of time to compose! And we're starting off with a bang!
As you can probably hear, this piece was inspired by the Esper Battle theme from Final Fantasy XII. I've also drawn some inspiration from the Bayonetta and Fire Emblem soundtracks~!

I don't know what the thing is with me and making forest themes by accident. Guess I must like them a lot, huh? Anyway, here's a nice little theme for a forest I suppose. Didn't really plan for it to be really, but I had an idea and converted it into a song~

Got another little update, before I forget again! :kaohi:

Sometimes I like to look though my drafts and see what's in there. Most of the time I don't even remember what I've drafted. Like this one. I completely forgot I had started this one. And when I found it, I immediately wanted to finish it. And so I did! I gotta say, I really love making these epic boss battle like songs - especially since I got my new orchestral VSTs!:kaojoy:

Wow!! Really enjoyed the soundtracks you made; may I ask what software you used to produce your music? I don't compose but just curious!

Of course you may! I use a combination of FL Studio and a variety of third-party plugins, such as Native Instruments' Kontakt for example or orchestral stuff by EastWest. I'm not gonna list all the plugins though; just know that I have something for every occasion!:kaojoy:

Ahh I see! Do you compose for a living or just a hobby?
