Hello everyone,
I'm back with another question - I completed a demo for my game and tried uploading .ZIP files of both the PC and Mac versions (game made on a Mac, BTW) to itch.io and have been having problems. I first tried decompressing the .ZIP file on my own computer to test it out, and the game worked perfectly fine, but then when someone, including myself, tries to decompress it after downloading it from the web, the game becomes corrupt and won't open. Only one person, it would seem, has reportedly gotten it to work, and it was with the PC version, and that was with an unzipped version downloaded from Dropbox. When the Mac equivalent was unzipped it "exploded" into all these files on Dropbox, and that was a whole other problem.
I should note that when first uploading, I originally tried linking the file from Dropbox to my itch.io, and when that failed, I later tried directly uploading the .ZIP files to itch.io. I'm not sure why it would be uncorrupt before upload and download and then become un-openable afterwards. I have wasted a lot of bandwidth trying to figure this one out on my own. Help!
